First Experience on a set

I was an extra on the NBC show ED yesterday. I had never done anything with film before. Anything at all for that matter. Fun experience. Very nice people. I would do it again. :) Just thought I would share.

I was an extra on the movie Titanic. I was the guy who yelled "OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!" and died. You know who I'm talking about.

Thats cool.. its something Ive wanted to do at some point as well..

What did it entail?

did you get any $$ for it? (50$ for the day or something?)

I've always felt that you were more suited for being lucky pierre in gay porn.

I thought this thread was going to be about you finally getting in the gym and hitting the weights.

After the managment gets their cut. I get mine. Which is about $50.
Big $ baby. Big $.
:FRlol:

Nature boy,
No, I don't remember that. Serious?

That's pretty cool. One of my ex's was an extra in a movie once. She was walking downtown Toronto and was approached. How does one get to be an extra anyway? Is being approached the only way?

I would like to try that at least once. But I guess there's no room for ugly people....:bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

My friend got about $25k for having two lines in the movie The Emperor's Club and only doing 2 weeks of work on the set.

Guess they should have used you in the locker room scene showering with the rest of the boys.

Union extras make more than non-union... and any set you are on - ask for a "bump" if the director asks you to do soemthing special. i.e., if you are the extra who throws a brick through the police car window... throwing a brick is worth a pay bump.

The best day in history that I saw for extras was CHINA BEACH's legendary 27 hour day... with overtime and meal penalties the union extras made $2,000 for one days work. (The director never worked again.)

People actually get paid to do this "extra" stuff?
