Finiseteride May Inhibit Post Cycle Libido Recovery?

KD1

New member
Ok I saw this study the other day on castrated rats.

Cant seem to find it today to link to it - but the study castrated a bunch of rats and noticed their sex drive went to zero ( duh ).

Apparently if these rats were given testosterone, they regained normal sex drive. If however this testosterone was supplemented with finasteride, they did not regain their sexual function.

Does this imply that in the human bod - if its a poor hormone producing state ( like after a cycle ) and you use chemicals to boost testosterone production ( like AI's, clomid, HCG ) - you may not regain normal sex drive if you are using finasteride to control hairloss?

Maybe thats why I battle limp cock for the whole length of PCT and then a few weeks afterwards.

Im thinking of running the fin during cycle, and a week past the last shot, but then stopping it for PCT until my libido is 100% again.

I'll let you know how it turns out. Been on Finasteride for a year and doing PCT as we speak. So far no issues. Sometimes it's hard to cum but i just think about banging a couple chicks at one time when i'm with the wifey and i'm usually aight. Got Viagara in case. PM me and we'll keep in touch.

yes finasteride can impair libido

In theory, at least at first, it would seem that finasteride would raise libido by raising test levels, but in time this would lead to more e conversion, which could lower libido. If one were to find the right balance of an AI and finasteride, would this help with the libido issues?

That study would lead one to believe that its not the testosterone, but the DHT which is primarily responsible for the male sex drive.

Finasteride in the treatment of alopecia.Libecco JF, Bergfeld WF.
Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Department of Dermatology and Dermapathology, Cleveland, OH 44195, USA.

Finasteride is a 5alpha-reductase inhibitor approved for the treatment of male pattern hair loss. Originally approved for the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy in 1992, its approval was expanded in 1997 to include the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in men at a dose of 1 mg/day. Finasteride inhibits 5alpha-reductase, thereby prohibiting the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is implicated in the development of hairless in some men. Reduction in DHT results in a significant improvement in subjective and objective assessments of hair growth and density. Finasteride is well-tolerated with a favourable adverse event history. The most common adverse events include reduced libido, decreased ejaculate volume and gynaecomastia.

according to study data:
about 1 in 20 people experience libido problems
about 1 in 6 people experience erectile issues
about 1 in 6 people experiece ejaculatory issues

facial edema and gynecomastia are other issues, though there are no solid #'s

The side effects appear to be indirect estro elevation from reduced dht. Would taking an AI balance things out and keep the libido in check?

to an extent, perhaps completely for some. However some of that is just an effect of lack of DHT. you would have to lower estrogen very low (too low) to completely offset in some cases.

What about adding a dht based steroid like masteron or prov? People keep saying primo is too, but I've read it's derived from dhb. So what about propecia eod with an AI. That would allow for some extra dht. What do you think?

I have been running low dose AI for a couple months to counteract libido and bloat issues with finisteride, and I can tell you without a doubt, if I dont take finisteride for a few days my libido goes through the fucking roof.

It take about 3 days off the fin before I get a libido boost.

So no I dont think the AI has completely balanced out the effect of finisteride. But this increased libido may wane if I didnt restart - unknown because I always restart it because of fear of increased hairloss.

Fina can act like Deca, but normally has not been a problem, I noticed it being a problem on my most recent cycle, which ended about 2 weeks ago.

100mg Tren Ace every day for 50 days, never did 100mg before, so, found myself with a slight case of Deca Dick.

with a steroidal AI or proviron you would get more free DHT, though thats part of what you are trying to avoid by using finasteride. Though reduction in target tissues (skin and prostate) with systemically higher levels might be acheived.

inhibited DHT= inhibited sex drive.......hair or sex drive...you choose.....temporary of course either way (maybe not of you have MPB bad).

I got it bad bro - would be totally bald by now if it wasnt for an aggressive therapy including finisteride, minoxidil and copper peptides.

However my sex drive is more important - so next PCT I will forgo the finisteride as an experiment to see if my libido recovers quicker.

I'm always on finasteride and I have never noticed a decrease in libido. I take 2.5mg ed or eod.

Some people are less sensitive to androgenic issues related to steroids and hormone levels.

What does nothing to one guy turns another into a bitch tit carrying limp cock m-fucker.

You might want to consider a low-dose progesterone cream. It can achieve the same thing as finestride in limiting DHT conversion, but it doesnt always have such a negative effect on sexual function.

I think my derm gave me some once - for about 2 months with great results. Except it was a lotion instead of a cream.

But he refused to let me continue because it thins the skin on the scalp apparently.

Did he have you apply it to your scalp?

No, I remember it was a lotion and that he had 2 different concentrations. The stronger of the 2 was much better. I believe the lotions are more powerful than the creams that are commercially available.

He did it to kickstart my hairloss treatment with finisteride/ minoxidil. According to him any hair I regained during that initial treatment would be kept by running the finisteride indefinitely. It didnt quite work like that - I kept regrowing hair for about 2 years, then it started falling out again just not as fast.
