Finding someone from the past

I was trying to lookup an old girlfriend's number the other day, and couldn't find it on the net anywhere. I checked numerous free sites, but only the pay sites report finding her name. The main pay sites I went to were USsearch, classmates, and reunion.com. All three show her name, but all three are pricey too.

Has anyone used Net Detective (or Cyber Detective as its now called) to find someone?

Any suggestions on how to find her would be most appreciated.
