Finasteride Dosages???

i take 2.5mg/day too...the only difference is i take it once/day in the morning. helped stop my shedding while cycling.bittersuit_98 said:

Have you started your cycle? Otherwise, I would start to take 1 mg ED X 2 weeks before the first poke. And one week within the cycle I'd bump it to 2.5 mg ED throughout the whole cycle. It's important to split the 2.5mg in 2 doses with 6-8 hrs apart.

tommyboy, the only thing you can do regarding propecia is take 5mg per day. 2.5mg in the morning and 2.5mg at night. Start taking this a few weeks before your cycle and taper off for a few weeks after. Keep that dose the same no matter what amount of test you are taking. Its better to be safe than sorry. 5mg doesnt work that much more better than 2.5mg also.

There is absolutely no reason to take both your just wasting your money and ive read that you will shed a lot. Dutasteride inhibits about 90% of type 2 DHT and about 50% of type 1 DHT. Finesteride only inhibits about 70% of type 2 DHT and it isnt as strong as Dutasteride. Taking finesteride while taking dutasteride would be like taking 3000mg of test when you would max out benifits on 1000mg. The rest is just a health risk with no benifits.
are there any risks or anything I should worry about and can dutasteride be taken for life? Right now I plan on taking finasteride for good so I can keep as much hair as possible. But would like to switch over once I get more info on dutasteride. I have never heard of it haveing the same mechanism as finasteride does

Yes you can take Dutasteride for life but be aware the LONG term effects of this drug havent been studied. It proved over a 4 year study to be safe and effective but nobody knows 10 or 20 years down the road. But, the good news is that hair multiplication will be a reality within the next 5 years forsure so start saving up some money for that time and you wont need Dutasteride or anything to keep your hair anymore. Once HM is out im dropping ALL my treatments and pain in the ass topicals for good. I'll also do some AAS without worry. There's also a treatment called "hedgehog" that should be out around 5 years from now that you apply this topical to your head for about 20 days and grow new hair. I read the hairloss forums a lot so this info is accurate. Just be sure when on Dutasteride to watch for estrogen related side effects as it increases testosterone by about 25% and estrogen 25%. Thats why im trying to figure out a safe low dose of Aromasin to counter the estrogen increase. Mabye 5mg Aromasin daily i'll try. You should do some research on hairlosstalk or hairlosshelp on Dutasteride. I'll be starting Dut as soon as it arrives.
