Fina and the FDA
Q: I was about to order some Finaplix-H from an online veterinary distributor when I was told something that was potentially disturbing: all purchases of Finaplix-H, Component-TH, and Synovex are reported to the FDA. Is this true? If so, how does this impact someone like me who’s looking to buy one or two carts for making Finasol?
A: Yes, unfortunately, it’s absolutely true that all sales of cattle implant pellets are recorded and sent to the FDA. That’s "FDA" and not "DEA."
So the FDA knows you bought a carton or two of Fina? I’d guess that several thousand people have done the same over the last five years and as far as I can tell, the FDA has never come to anyone’s house looking to see if they own cattle.
And even if they did, there’s little the FDA could do to you other than impound your pellets. I understand your concern, but the reality of it is you have almost nothing to worry about so long as you’re only buying a carton or two for use on "Aunt Bessie," the lone cow you have living in a pen in the backyard.
see what i mean????
