Ok, If a woman is on an AAS, and starts to show signs of virilization, is there a drug that can stop or reduce the side effects? I have heard of a medication called CASODEX? has anyone heard of it? Thanks for the help...

What is Casodex?
• Casodex is an antiandrogen. It works in the body by preventing the actions of androgens (male hormones). ***Could be what you are looking for.***
• Casodex is used in the treatment of prostate cancer.
• Casodex may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
• Casodex is not indicated for use by women. Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. Casodex is in the FDA pregnancy category X. This means that Casodex is known to cause birth defects in an unborn baby.
• It is not known whether Casodex passes into breast milk. Do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

1. CASODEX should be used with caution in patients with moderate-to-severe hepatic impairment. CASODEX is extensively metabolized by the liver. Limited data in subjects with severe hepatic impairment suggest that excretion of CASODEX may be delayed and could lead to further accumulation. Periodic liver function tests should be considered for patients on long-term therapy (See WARNINGS).

2. In clinical trials with CASODEX as a single agent for prostate cancer, gynecomastia and breast pain have been reported in up to 38% and 39% of patients, respectively.
***Dont know if this is more of a problem for female.***

Hepatitis: Rare cases of death or hospitalization due to severe liver injury have been reported postmarketing in association with the use of CASODEX. Hepatotoxicity in these reports generally occurred within the first three to four months of treatment. Hepatitis or marked increases in liver enzymes leading to drug discontinuation occurred in approximately 1% of CASODEX patients in controlled clinical trials.

Hope this helps somewhat. I would give this a wide birth mate.
