feeling old at 20

i haven't lifted seriously in months and i haven't played a down of football in over 2 years. i do, however, have faith in my potential (in hs i made the all district team 2 years in a row on a team that went 1-19 during that span). i'm a little over weight but not fat and i'm not injured. heres the rub though:

i have a horrible driving record that cost me my license. i need a car to be able to balance school, work, working out, doing homework, and eating 5-6 meals a day. not to mention at least 7 hours of sleep a night. the bus is fukkin tragically slow and i live at home with my family and girlfriend. i'm 20 years old and i feel like i'm on the decline. like i should forget about looking good until i have more money, means, and freedom. but why should i have to wait to be healthy? because of a few traffic tix and a hefty schedule? i don't think so. there has to be a better (cost efficient) way. i just don't know what that is yet. but since i've been looking from the inside out for about 2 years now and have no idea what to do, i will excercise my only 2 options with this one post:

1)bitch, and

2)ask for any suggestions from ppl looking from the outside in.

please help before my chances to play football (and eventually coach football) and take care of my body elude me long enough to where i give up from lack of hours in a day.

It sounds like you are at a crossroads, my friend.

My advice is to start by accepting your responsibility for the situation you are in. Only then can you do anything about it. If you blame "a few traffic tix" or the "fukking slow" busing system you lose the opportunity to grow from this experience.

What is prohibiting you from doing any sort of cardio? You may not be able to make it to the gym, but what could you be doing at home to get into better shape. If the bus is not practical, could you bike? That would solve your cardio problems as well.

Granted you will need to get back into the gym at some point, especially if you want to play football, but by making minor adjustments you will start from a much better place.

Best of luck,
Zen

It's obvious.....

you have recognized your past immaturity. Now is the time to take control of your life and grow up. You will have to just get past the no driver liscense thing. Do some stuff at home to take care of yourself. I'm sure there are plenty of exercises you can do at home to replace the gym for the time being. Once you have your life in order, you can concentrate on other things. You have made your bed now you must lie in it. Not trying to flame you but looking at it from the outside like you suggested. Hey, we all hate the truth but it does help. This is your moment to grow up and start acting responsibly. Just my .02 but I hope it helps. This is my advice from somebody twice your age. Wait until you reach 40 before you start feeling old! Later!

thanks a lot guys. k, invest in a bike and stop bitching. got it. :)

and yes, that is what the name stands for. i love that song. saw nin live and they didn't play it though. they started with terrible lie though and they played wish and burn so it was all good in the end. you a fellow nin junkie skitz?

ps thanks for not flaming me about that 1-19 record. i'm also a redskin fan and they've lost their last two games by a combined score of 67-3. oh so terrible. do my losing ways ever end (sorry, i'm bitching again)?
