federal marshall (need response)

Is there any way, just by chatting on a Yahoo chat room that someone (like a fed. marshall like he or she said they were) could actually get your physicall address just by chatting...my address also not listed in my profile except city.....I think someone is bullshitting me, but I just want to check in case I need to start throwing shit out of my house......

The person pretending to be a federal marshall should be the one who is worried because that is a CRIME! The internet is almost like the telephone and if someone called your home posing as a federal agent he/she can go to prision for that shit! It is very likely that the person is full of it and maybe you need to call their bluff but why bother unless you want to mess with them?? Not without a warrant to search your ISP .. how that is accomplished currently is they use your IP address to track down your ISP. Then they invade your ISP offices.

Then they wait for you to call in and then run a trace on the line you're calling in on. That is the only way I know to track someone's physical address.

It's a time consuming process.
