I have the phase I written exam soon and i nee to find the preperation kit on the website so i can practice some math problems and such that will be on the test.

I cant seem to find it on the site, and ive found it once before so i know it's there.

Hopefully one of you can help me out:)

also any other free online college entrance math exam practice testswould rock also.

peace

so your asking on a steroid board for a link to the FBI practice exam preparation kit.

you know what they say about the truth being stranger than fiction? yes, this one fits.

lol i don't think many peeps here are federal agents...unless they are deep undercover. I've always suspected gonelifting as being a low level ATF agent

FBI

Female Body Inspector

...if you havent figured out how to do that then you've failed as a male bor.

that test is a bitch. the hard part isnt the standard math/verbal, its the pyschological profile section and then later the 3-agent pressure interview if you score high enuf on the written.

best advice on the psych part is dont try to outsmart them. do what i did. put yourself in the mind of the most grounded friend you have, and answer the questions the way you think he would :D.

worked for me. i'm pretty nuts, and i got an offer (i declined btw).

The question about what you'd do in certain situations and such?

I would think you just lie mostly and answer what they want to here.

What would you most likely do questions and such

yup those questions. thats what i mean tho about not trying to outsmart them. the questions get incresingly restrictive eventually forcing you to choose between 3 or 4 unacceptable alternatives. and they'll look for consistency. if you just put urself in the mind of a grounded friend and answer straight rather than trying to outguess them ur prolly better off.

of course if ur sane and grounded urself, you wont need to resort to all that lol.

What made you decline the offer?

it took like maybe a year and a half from when i started the process to finally getting the offer - things had gotten better at work promotion/raises wise, but I was still going to go tru with it even thjo it would have meant a cut in pay.

I went to my bosses and told them I was leaving and they basically upped the ante with more goodies - it would have been too much of a cut, plus as you get older the facination with that sort of career wanes i guess. also there was a girlfriend in the mix as well - they always relocate you from your home town for your first assignment - and we were getting serious.

give us some example questions mavafaolco

like as many as u remember, (of the psych one)

i dont remember the specifics, but in general they'd start with something like "if there was a fire and you could only save 1 , would you save your dog/cat/mother. then give you increasingly difficult choices like would you save your mother or your father.

some were easy to figure out what they wanted to hear tho - like they would ask stuff like would you rather work on 1 task to completion, or work on 5 or 10 simultaineously. knowing the job, they want a multi-tasker so you say the 2nd -. then later they ask similar tho different questions probing the same preference for consistency

id save my mother over dog and cat, and then save my mother over my dad, because she brought me into the world and women are held higher.

but if my dad was a political figure, id save him over my mom, just because thts what you do

I just remembered another reason you should role-play the psych part instead of trying to out smart them. when I was interviewed, like 6 months or more after the test if I recall, they asked a few of the same questions, then drilled me on why some of the answers were different then from now lol. I think this was partly for testing consistency, but also prolly part of the pressure tactics to gauge how you hold up when "caught" in an embarassing or tense situation.

I seeeee............ it is the definately the girlfriend's fault. ;) J/k

That would have been an interesting career and you would not have posted on EF for sure if you did take up the offer.

isn't it ALWAYS the girlfriend/wifes fault? duh. lol

I would have been a different person, thats for sure. all my buddies who went the law enforcement route really changed. it makes you cold and paranoid. i can understand that i guess.
