Fat Percentage

New member
If I'm taking in enough calories to equal my Basal Metabolic Rate and burning 3500 cals/week, why would it matter what my fat percentage was? I know why it shouldn't get too low, but if it went over 30% but cals burned were greater than cals taken in??????

The wrong kind of cals being taken in if your fat content is too high. You can lose weight by not taking in enough cals, but if your mix isn't right pro/carbs/fat and the wrong carbs and fat is too high, you could/will lose weight and gain fat instead of getting lean and cut, keeping the muscle.

somehow I didn't really understand the original question... :(

It shows English is not my mother tongue... BLEHHHH

Your BMR depends partly on your %fat

Thanks, folks. I found a book that explained basically what anthrax said. When they calculate your BMR, it's assuming fat intake to be anywhere from 25 to 35% depending on what source.
