Although Bleeding Me is a good song, it is in no way comparable to the excellence of Fade to Black. Just MHO.

True, in a way. But remember, both are mood songs. i mean, to me, it depends what state of mind im in. For instance, Fade to black is a kickass song if you are a bit down, tired. And Bleeding me is great when you are feeling numb and cold. I dunno, i have a tendency to know exactly what song suits my mood. Ofcourse, we are talking all metallica songs here.

Definitely. Theres nothing like the riffs in "Fade" though. The Black Album was a nice switch, but they went onto trying to be grungy after that, which definitely turned them off to alot of their loyal fans. I think they lost their edge after that & couldn't(or didnt want to) recapture it. Getting clean & sober seems to have that effect on some bands(i.e Motlley Crue), and the reverse on others(Aerosmith).

Sorry, Master of Puppets was the highlight, And Justice for All was on the descent (and was the last of the good stuff). Anything after that...forget it. They just changed too much. (Me too probably).

I saw 'em once on the And Justice For All tour, still have a guitar pic with the band logo that one of the roadies threw to me...

Yeah, some people are only into the first 3. I will say when I first got Justice for All I fell asleep listening too it, took time to appreciate it, but I do dig the first 5 albums overall for thier own qualities.

As for the ultimate in ass whupping, kill em all, yes Master is nice though, and so is Ride...

Load though, bleck. Some of it is ok I guess but I hardly know anything from that point or beyond, that isn't the old Metallica at all to me, just too hardcore country or something, odd.

Most of the time nowdays I prefer heavier anyhow, Malevolent Creation, Deicide, Corpse, Slayers new album fucking rocks... etc

Hell yeah! Metallica kicked ass in the day! Fade to Black was cool as shit. I have to admit though, that I still like some of the newer shit. The older shit was the best, though. I saw them on the black album tour in Nashville. Cool as shit.
