Exentric(sp?) training

Anybody ever tryed the exentric prinsip? That any muscle on your body is 1,5 times strong on the exentric phase than in the consentric phase? I am going to try to throw one exercise where i can increase the exentric weight, per muscle on my next program. I havent tried this before and im looking forward to it. My gym has these machines where you can program the exentric (negative) phase of the lift to be heavier than the consentric phase of the lift. I have one week off between my old program and new program. So im gonna try the machines light, just see how they feel. And if it feels allright, im gonna give it a go.
 
if you were wondering about the spelling, i think it's 'eccentric'
 
watch your recovery time go up! it does some pretty decent damage.

i think the possibility of overloading is great, but the fact that your recovery time will take so long, i can hit a muscle 2x in that time. so i can overload twice concentrically, vs. the once eccentrically. just my opinion.

another drawback is not having a spotter.
 
Hm, yeah the recovery time will go up. But how much? i mean, im only gonne hit a musclegroup once every seven days. So that should be enough tim to recovery fully. Or?
