Evidence Q

Hey guys,

I just need to ask a quick question/favour. My parents, god bless them are a little ignorant when it comes to food, despite my mum being a doctor. They just read an article that swedish research indicates fruits have antioxidants which prevent cancer (wow, that's new). But they want me to go overboard with fruit, while i'm trying to low-carb it. They want me to have 5 fruits/day. I'm trying to convince them that low-carb vegetables that I eat, like spinach, brocolli, tomatoes, asparagus, peppers, olives and some types of fish i eat :haddock, cod etc.. all have large amounts of anti-oxidants so a balance would be best, like 3 fruits/day and some vegetables. Does anyone have any literary evidence or studies (medline, sports science etc...) to suggest that vegetables and food like the aforementioned have ample anti-oxidants and other vitamins etc....

Thx

Peace Out
