What's up everybody.Im currently bulking up but think Im getting too fat.I was thinking from now on I can bulk one week and then cut one week.Just think if you can lose a lb of fat a week and gain about a lb of muscle the next week.....your bf would drop tremendously.I dont know about you guys but bulking gets old after a while, with these methods your always shocking your body so results would be expected as your body adapts. What does everyone think?Has anyone ever tried anything like this?

Better to gain slower but with less fat gain. Last time I bulked I gain quite a bit of fat and water...never again. Gonna try to stay lean with slow progressive gains.

Eat clean...watch your gains (muscle vs fat) closely, and vary the amount of carbs and protein you take in.

Hey yall whats up,first off I eat clean but maybe I dont know how to bulk and gain less fat?For example Im still wondering,is it ok to eat carbs like after 7 while bulking? If so how many?Another one is I know we eat carbs with protein because insulin is released to carry protein to the muscle.....I eat about 75-100 carbs with each meal until pw shake. My total cals are about 4000,do I need that many carbs with each meal or is that the culperate (sp) thats making me fat?

Two weeks of bulking and I've had it. I hate looking fat and bloated even w/ femara. Depends on your goals. If you just want to get big, bulk away. but for me, from now on slow steady growth. I hate fat face.

YoundAndWeak, I am myself struggling with the same questions.

I'm gonna try cutting out heavy carbs after 6pm, and only have veggies and such trace carbs with the protein at this time.

If you're getting fat then your body doesn't need all that food, even for repairing muscle.

Trying to find the right balance between max muscle gain/min fat gain is probably different from person to person, and the holy grail of bodybuilding.

Trial and error I would say is the only way to find out.

You know what nikolai,I totally agree with you.I guess I wont have to pound down so much food, today I had 3 huge bowls of chili....30 min later I almost threw them back up.But anyway I guess your right and Im gonna be switching around my diet to see what works. Now what do you guys think of say bulking for a month and cutting for a month? still too little?

Ok no one has replied yet,no surprise. What do you guys think of bulking for 3 weeks outta every month then cutting for one week. Also what do you guys use to prvenet estrogen related fat gains while bulking? I have liquidex and nolvadex which one is th best to use?

I think one of the problems here is the way in which many people "bulk".,

Many poeople see this as an opportunity to eat Dominos Pizza, Burger King, Ribs, Mexcican Food ... and just generally pig out.

Now are there guys who CAN do such things and not get totally fat and bloated. Yes.

But similar to the genetic anomalies which allow some guys to look like Mr Olympia contenders, only SOME, FEW guys can eat like total crap and stay lean (or at least leaner tha Fat Albert). And/or they are on a mountain of gear at the time.

Some of the "bulk" methods advocated here and by some members are ridiculoius. "Yeah I go to Burger King and eat 5 whoppers with cheese". Please - that's not bulking, thats just being a pig.

If you eat well, clean, with a good balnce of carbs (not all starchy, bread and sugar crap) which includes fruit and real veggies, along with a lot of protein and some good fat (meaning don't just eat beef all day with lot of fat, get some mix of protein and also get some good EFAs using like Udos's or Flaxseed oil least) then you will be able to probebly put on muscle (if training and RESTING properly) without too much fat.

BTW, the bulk one week and cut the next method ... LOL .... well if you "sorta try" to do 2 different things you end up doing neither very well at all.

I think, again, that the "bulk" mindset of eating TONs of ANYTHING in sight does more harm than good.

Muscle Media 2000 published as excellent series of articles from a year or two ago that suggests this approach but with a few twists. Here is a very quick summary.

Bulk for two weeks by forcing yourself to overeat and train hard. Because you are forced to eat so much during the two week bulking period your body goes crazy hormonally and aids in great gains in muscle. After a two week period though the body then stabilizes itself hormonally and any further forced overeating would cause fat weight gain. That's when you start a strict diet with increased cardio and lighter training to clean up some of the fat you may have gained in the two week bulking phase. Then after two weeks of cutting throw the body into complete shock again by doing the 2 week bulking and overeating, etc. The diet is called the ABCDE diet of ABC for short if I remember correctly. Very interesting reading and I do believe it is quite effective its just difficult to execute.

Thank you very much mr.riker.I actually I always eat clean when cutting or bulking. My house is stocked with rice, pasta, cottage cheese, tuna, chicken, beef, oatmeal, sweet potatoes and other veggies. And forget the cutting one week bulking one week. How about bulking for 3 weeks outta every month and cutting for one week outta the month.I found that a few weeks ago I dieted for only a week and I lost about 2-3 lbs of fat it looks like.I can tell IM more vascular but I am unhappy because I think my arms got really small.....my girlfriend says it was probably fat I lost from my arms because they are alot harder tho.

OK, well the stuiff I posted about is an all-too-common problem (which many people try to solve with just MORE gear) but it seems like it may not apply here.

Maybe you just want to cut back on the total cals a bit.

Your switch back-and-forth method may work, but I think it always take the body a little while to figure out what its supposed to be doing "adding or losing" and therefore I think it might run the risk of being counter prouctive if you switch back and forth too often.

I want some more opinions on bulking for 3 weeks then cutting for one.If you guys think about when you first start cutting for like the first week or so is when you lose the most weight. After say a month of low carbing your t3 falls and all that other bullshit.Well if you keep switching it up I think you'd always get decent results. Its kinda like your training routine, you always gotta switch it up.And I dont know if my cals are too high or not cuz Im 5'10 210 lbs.
