Usually smell and taste are linked. People who have lost the sense of smell can only discern a few tastes I think - sweet, salty and bitter, if I remember correctly.
I worked "in the music business" until earlier this year. I was "over-entertained" to the point where I've become very picky about what music I choose to hear. Okay, I'm a snob.
I originally mistyped -- "some" as "same". It is unusual for me to discern smells well but still not be sensitive to taste.
And when it comes to day-to-day living, I'm an extreme anti-snob.
Go figure!
