Ever read your old posts and realize how much things have changed?

What's up y'all? I haven't posted anything in so long it almost feels like the first time. *sigh* oh....the memories.... ....er...what was I saying??

Has anyone else ever read their old posts and wondered who that person was who wrote that? That's what's going through my mind tonight as I read some of my old posts just because I'm still up, a little bored and a little tipsy...Maybe you have to go on 'hiatus' for a while to understand what I'm talking about or be bored enough to read your own old posts....but it has not been that long since I wrote some of the things I've written and I find myself wondering who that person was and I'm thinking about how much things have changed...how much I've changed since.

I won't be surprised when no one else has a clue what I am talking about because maybe this is just me finding out for the umpteenth time that I have multiple personalities but I'm not aware of it because tonight, I'm a new personality that I have created in my head...Yea baby! Yeehaw!

It just never ceases to amaze me how much and how quickly things change in the blink of an eye, when it seems that just yesterday, you were thinking that it never does.


Oh....and I'd appreciate it if no one would turn this into a way to make a smartass comment about mulitiple usernames or hijacked IDs.

As for reading my own older posts...I had a look at some of my first ones from like a year ago. Creeped me out as I don't remember writing any of that stuff.

Exactly...it's going 'I wrote that???' that is a pretty creepy feeling. For me, it was kind of sad too, I feel like I've lost some of that energy and joy and I kinda miss that girl!

It may not mean much, but I bet you can see some positive ways your life has changed.

For instance, I noticed that about 80% of my posts from last year were made after I'd gotten home from a bar or a party. So chances are I was drunk, broke, smelled like smoke, and totally worn out. These days I actually have money in the bank, I barely drink at all, I no longer smoke, and I don't spend every other night chasing some bar slut around.

I miss the energy and fun, but I wouldn't trade my current situation for my old one.

I'm sure if you have a good look at your life, you'll see what i'm talking about.

As far as that person changing, we all change. Some of us might change faster or more often than others, but it's all part of life and growing.

It's pretty weird actually, it sorta creeps me out. Every now and then I'll stumble across an old post of mine, both here and elsewhere, and most of the time I don't remember writing it, or even recoginize it when I see it. I've changed so much over the years, I'm not even the same person, shit I don't even feel like the same person day to day. Really makes me wonder what I'll be like in 1, 5, or 10 years.

Oh, it's not that I feel the need to change...it's just something that happens with time due to circumstances, other people and things that I have control over which make me feel like I'm in a perpetual state of change and turmoil when I'd rather just be laying in a hammock on a private beach somewhere...
