Estrogen liver toxic?

CRNT93

New member
Usually injectable test isn't thought to be particularly liver toxic. However, another knowledgeable person told me it can be if the excess estrogen from aromatase isn't controlled as estrogen IS liver toxic. Now,I read another thread where macrophage69alpha said nolvadex acts as an estrogen in the liver.Looking at the PDR liver toxicity is a listed side effect, even peliosis hepatitis, the condition ofted associated with Anadrol. It makes sense if estrogen is liver toxic.
Anyone know anything about estrogen and the liver??
It would then seem to me like a bad idea to stack orals with nolva/clomid from liver health standpoint.
I'm sure macrophage69alpha knows something about this.

Animal data shows there is some risk of liver toxicity with Nolvadex. In humans it is extremely well tolerated with an excellent safety record, however the possibility of toxicity cannot be excluded. This potential is due to the metabolism of tamoxifen, and not its estrogenic or anti-estrogenic action. Estrogen is not hepatotoxic.

Thanks for the reply Bill!Does injectable testostosterone
have any toxicity issues then?In my PDR liver malfunction is
listed as a contraindication for testosterone use.Testosterone
is metabolised partly in the liver right? But is,say,200-400mg/week
of inj. test that much harder for the liver to handle?

"Generally, when we speak of steroids as having liver toxicity, we are mean steroids which are 17-alkylated (such as Dbol or Winstrol). While testosterone does have it's own side effects, it does not have significant liver toxicity. I might add that the above assumes you deal with the estrogenic problems of testosterone. If not, resulting high estrogen levels can cause some liver problems. "

"Elevated estrogen levels have been associated with the development of peliosis hepatis, a condition characterized by development of blood filled spaces or cycts within the liver. Peliosis has also been associated with treatment with oral contraceptive agents in women, as well as certain wasting disorders such as tuberculosis and certain malignancies. It is also associated with the 17-alkylated steroids as well as certain other medications. Peliosis may be mistaken for hepatic abscess or hepatic cancer. One of the more severe complications is rupture with internal bleeding.
What about the hypothetical individual who injects 500-750mg testosterone weekly? I would think that the risk of hepatic complications would be low, IF he is taking adequate anti-estrogen precautions. Could it occur anyway? Possibly, but rarely if so. What abouut jaundice? Cholestatic jaundice has been associated with the 17-alkylated anabolics, but not testosterone"

Llewellyn, are you saying that it's incorrect to say that estrogen is liver toxic?

Oral contraceptives are toxic becuase they are c-17 alpha alkylated. Ethynyl-estradiol is liver toxic, not estradiol.

There is really no issue with injectable test, although I do believe there is an isolated case or two in the books somewhere where there was trouble.. Your body metabolises these hormones continuiously.. If they were inheriently toxic, we'd all be in trouble.
