After watching and hearing some of the trials of his life, I wonder if the public's perception would have been different had he finished his college career undefeated? Would his Olympic gold medal be viewed in a different light if not for that one loss?
He certainly did not (nor could not) have the same control over his teams at the University of Iowa as he did over his own matches/conditioning/attitude.
