A buddy of mine told me that a federal court in Utah is making ephedra legal again. Pretty much because the reason people, died from it was because of miss use. Has anyone else heard this rumor.

A supplement company, Nutraceutical, filed a lawsuit against the FDA claiming that ephedra should be treated as a food, not as a drug, and that the ban on ephedra was therefore unlawful. In order for the FDA to ban a food, the FDA must prove that the food is harmful. In order for a drug to get FDA approval the manufacturer must prove that it is safe. Even though the autopsy of Baltimore Orioles prospect Steve Bechler showed a direct link between his death and the use of ephedra and over 100 other deaths have been attributed to ephedra, the FDA has not proven the supplement to be deadly. A federal judge in Salt Lake City on Apr. 14 agreed with Neutraceutical execs and stated that the FDA had overstepped its bounds and was not acting within the parameters set forth by congress. The ban was lifted. I do not know of any companies at this point though who have said they will immediately return to manufacturing products with ephedra.

although the ban on ephedra was overturned the return to the market is up in the air for makers of weight loss supplements for one reason - insurance - if it is available (and the cost of liability insurance) for the manufacturer will the determining factor - (one other thing all you bush boys should also consider is; how fast will the administraion move to change the law in order to ban ephedra permanently? - you know their buddies in the pharmacutical companies don't want ephedra competeing with their expensive bullshit weight-loss products that are coming on line)

LOL..changes nothing for me..I take ephedrine HCL...but if people want to start taking "dirty" herbal extracts it looks they'll be allowed again.

Just in case anyone in the area is interested. You can still go into almost any convenience store in New Orleans and buy a wide range of ephedra products. (ie. mini-thins, yellowjackets). I would check smaller, Arab owned stores in your area, too. You might get lucky. No ripped fuel or xenadrine, but a good ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin stack is better than that stuff anyway. FYI

Really?? I live in MS so I'm rather close, maybe i need to check all the small stores. there is this one with this cool arab dude down the road, ill check there. If not ill drive to slidell and see whats up there. Only 45 mins away.

yeah you can buy breathe aid in the MO at most gas stations, then you buy some of the yellow jackets that have all the caffiene,pop a couple together and you have the same old shit you used to buy legally.

i revieced a newsletter saying the same thing on the ban. i looked up some products and Nutrex Lipo -6 is jumping quickly on it. the price for a bottle though 59.99 internet price.

what is the difference? and why is one form bad and not the other.
is only one of the form. converted to crank? or what ever they make.
