Enthalpy or Entropy?

Kakdiesel

Banned
Regardless of scientific theories and equations, do you think your life is more filled with enthalpy (order) or entropy (disorder)

Look Kak, I will not allow you to entre me or whatever the hell it is you wanna do. Why don't you believe me when I say my colon is perfectly healthy and it doesn't need one of your entroscopies? I told you several times we're just friends. I love smalls now. You need to move on with your life.

Look freak show..i already saw that you thought that kokdiesel shit was funny..lame man..im gonna kick your pussy ass!

LOL just fuckin witcha man...what up with you tonite..did you buy that new Jay Z album yet? the song with eminem is very very tight

I don;t think enthalpy is the right word.

Enthalpy is the total heat of a system, or simply, heat content.

Jeez.....

You know, I listened to it and thought it was pretty good. But I just CAN'T bring myself to buy his album. Damn these underground morals. I like eminem too, but since he's so much in the spotlight, my brain won't let me buy him either.

Jeez.....

if memory serves me right from physics and chemistry (maybe not, i did a lot of drugs in my lifetime heeh)

i thought postiive delta was enthalpy
and negative delta was entropy or "S"

maybe i'm wrong....its late and i dont have my text books with me dammit! GRR

i meant the song on Jay Z's album that eminem is on as well..eminmen is the only other artist to appear on the new album..memph bleek, beanie , ja--nobody else appeared but em..kinda weird if you ask me..but oh well.

my favorite cuts are #12 and # 13 on teh album..if anything just download those songs if you dont want to buy them

I disagree. I think Renegade is one of the worst songs on the album. I prefer #2, Takeover, one of the best disses of all time. (on nas and mobb deep) and #7..i think it's called hola hovita.

i ilke the remix of girls girls girls on # 13..and yeah the dis on nas is nice..cant believe he pulled that shit..

i heard DMX's new one has got some shit on Jay Z..just what i hear

Stop being so anally-retentive and answer the question.

Sometimes you need to sift through the details and answer the question that is being asked.

Where oh where was your answer?

Mine: disorder

kak have you heard dilated people's dis on eminem? i think its called searching 4 bobby fischer, yea thats it.

Enthalpy\Entropy

2Thick , for a dude who likes his philosophy , you're a bit careless when it comes to assigning definitions to their meanings.

Matt , you are correct - I had four years of thermodynamics - enthalpy is more related to the internal energy of a system:
H (Enthalpy) = U (internal energy) + P (Pressure) V (Volume change).

Entropy is related to order however , and I think it's the third law which says spontaneous change always involves a decrease in entropy. In any case order is always a metastable state (non-permanent). So if you have any order , you won't have it for very long.

To answer the question , I haven't got much.

The only logical answr is disorder. Order is only an illusion that ensalves you.

Actually, the only logical answer is neither. Because neither really exists. They are both fabrications of human thought, and as such, are products of a flawed system of imposing order. Both are illusions.

If you think about it, disorder is a way we characterize and define something... i.e. we put order to the world around us by terming a certain something or sequence "disorder." Therefore, the idea of disorder is really a sub-unit of order. To term something as disorderly is to give order to it. Disorder=order.

For the record, enthalpy basically says that natural systems tend to go from a state of higher energy to a state of lower energy. It is a term most commonly applied to heat related subjects.

See, now this line of conversation turns me on.

Where were you when I was in my early 20's? Huh?

Ahhh, I've found you! The one other woman in the world (aside from my wife) that's turned on by this type of talk...

Early 20's... hmmm... it's really all a haze... where were you? I was the one that really needed a companion back then...lol ;)

Haven't you got your entropies and enthaplies mixed up ?, either that or your records are incorrect.

Nope, not mixed up or incorrect. Here:

Enthalpy, H, (heat content of a substance): natural systems tend to go from a state of higher energy to a state of lower energy. For instance, a ball rolls down a hill spontaneously, but not up. The ball looses potential energy as it rolls downhill. At the bottom of the hill it has zero potential energy. This same idea can be applied to chemical potential.

Entropy, S, (disorder of a substance): natural processes tend to go from an orderly state to a disorderly state. For instance, what happens if you carefully place three layers of different colored marbles in a container and shake it? The marbles are no longer in an ordered state. No matter how much you shake the box, the probability of getting back to three layers of single colors is next to zero.

Okey Doke - Here it is.

From the cursed/hallowed pages of :
"Introduction to Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics"
Smith/Van Ness and Abbott
"Enthalpy is EXPLICITLY DEFINED for ANY system by the mathemathical expression
H = U + PV"
with each symbol referring to the total quantity under investigation.

Entropy is a bit more difficult - i gotta go now.

i think it is the second law.

Organized disorder, is the best description. When
you think everything is in order, something happens to
remind you it's not.
