i think caynes got the right idea.... eminem does have some tight lyrics... but i think theres tons of quality rap out there a lot of these cats will never hear about cuzz they're stucc to whats on mtv/bet....

Hmmmm.....
Seems most of yall need a history lesson when we are talkin whose the best!!! If it was not for Eric Wright a.k.a Eazy E then none of this would have ever been here today!!! The money behind Ruthless Records which was the first music to use the gangsta tone with all the curses in the lyrics and shit. Dr. Dre wanted in becuase he had no where else to go sooo pretty much Dre is a bitch compared to Eazy. Not that im shutting him out i think some of Dre's lyrics are good but he couldn't hang with Eazy or Death Row records when he was with them. Now After N.W.A is when we start to see the best lyrics arrive in Gangster Rap. That would be Mr. Tupac Shakur a.k.a Makevelli a.k.a Blac Haze and whatever other names u want to call em!!! If it weren't for EZ i don't think 2pac would have been what he was and if it weren't for Tupac that fake bitch Biggy would have never had a chance. Snoop and all the others are just good rappers but nothing great compared to Pac I.M.O Then we see Eminem come along...the greatest white rapper!!!! Eminem has some aweosme lyrics and if i had to pick a white and a black rapper it would surely be Eminem and Tupac!!! We can't be sure however if Em is really as str8 up as he claims to be. What if shit were to go down would he punk out like a bitch or maybe would he possibly turn his back like Biggy did on Tupac!!! I.M.O Tupac was the best cause he was the reelest in the game. Look at yourself in the mirror and say to yourself would u really give your life, money, whatever it took to keep your boys out of trouble amongst the smallest things. If you answer "NO" then by the code of true gangsters you'd just be a bitch like Biggy and some of the others!!!

If you said this to me in person, I'd look at you like you were part retarded. Seriously.
1. Eazy-E DEFINITELY deserves props. Legend in the rap game. BUT... he rarely wrote his own lyrics and originally did NOT want to rap. He saw Rap as a money making venture only and Dr. Dre convinced him to rap the track "Boyz N The Hood". After its success, he became a full-time rapper instead of merely an investor.
2. Dr. Dre was part of a group called "The World Class Wreckin Crew" before he was with N.W.A. He definitely had "places to go". Eazy bailed Dre out of jail at one point and told him he'd pay him to make beats. They became good friends and then NWA was formed. Also, Eazy was never on the Death Row label.
3. 2Pac was not nearly as hard or talented as he and everyone else makes him out to be. His fan base is big because he got killed. He recorded a good 750 songs or so, and how many were good, solid tracks? 10? 15? Not very impressive. Biggie & Pac are VERY overrated. Its pathetic people think he's still alive.

There is nobody in hip-hop who's shit blows up immediately the way Eminems does, period. Do you like 50 Cent? Who do you think blew him up? Em and Dre. All he has to do is be in a song and it will be badass. I don't care what color he is, there is NO ONE out there that is more talented than. You might not like him because he is in your face and uses the shock factor, but you can't say he isn't a good rapper. I hate Michael Jordan, I'm fucking sick of him, but he is a hell of a basketball player. Eminem keeps coming up with original shit, his songs don't all sound the same. Even, arguably the greatest of all time, Tupac is very repetitive. He has about 10 songs that sound the same. Eminem is an innovator and a musical genius, like him or not. Obviously, if you don't like rap you won't like him. I don't like country so I would say Tim McGraw sucks, but to a country fan he is god. It's all about what you're into. It's entertainment, not church. Keep it in perspective.
