I did both. Cover letter in the body of the email, followed by my resume. I also attached a PDF file of my resume.

Good point bro. I might also mention that I did that too. When I got out of school, I would send a resume to a company via email, fax, and snail mail.

all our resumes that are received via email are automatically scanned into a database and searched by key work criteria.... so getting one by snail mail is too bothersome. We inform all our applicants of this in any job ad or job fair we attend.
