That's just messed up. It's like i didn't even see the "OF"s. Weird.

I think it's got to do with the way your taught to read when you are younger. Many teachers use what are called "site words" to speed up reading. of, the, stuff like that. Rather than sounding it out (or some similar teaching tool) like you would for "elephant", you're just taught to recognize "of" on sight. So I bet after years of reading "of" in a probably similar fashion, your mind tends not to look at it in the same fashion.


Just a guess of course. The wife is a kindergarten teacher. Heard more about stuff like this than I really care to.
