Ok, I do a quick search for MP3 players on ebay. Tons of shit comes up. Most are 512 or 1 gig and UNDER $5. Read that again. Under five bucks. Of course they are mostly shipped from UK or another country and you end up paying about $40 total for shipping and insurance.

My question is how the hell are these so cheap? Anyone ever bought one? It sounds too good to be true.

I've bought at least 10 MP3 players off of E-Bay, and I have come to this conclusion: When buying a MP3 player, take your ass to Best Buy, pay retail, and buy the extended warranty.

Anything on ebay that comes from Hong Kong, Thailand, anything over there ... is likely fake.

it's british pounds dude. also look at the insurance and shipping. Plus it comes from hong kong.

After you search and get the results look on the left side for a button to check closed auctions, so you can see what they've been going for recently.

I am noticing that FINAL prices for a lot of the electronics are getting closer and closer to the retail price for almost anything from someone here in the US...

Hard to justify buying em off ebay... especially since no warranty.

Damn this sucks. I was hoping for a bargain. Now I will just have to continue to haunt the Lost And Found bin at the gym and hope someone leaves one behind.
