Electrical shock doing T-Bar row

Hi guys, I wanted to ask you something.

Sometimes when I do T-Bar Row lifts I have a strange pain in the arms, it is not actually a pain, it is more like an electrical shock that goes from the elbow to the hand but it is really annoying, it does not let me concentrate on the lifting. This only happens to me when I use heavy loads.

Does someone else have the same or a similar problem? I am concerned that it can be something to be checked out by a doctor :worried:

Thanks a lot!

if its a tingling or sharp numbness, its probably a pinched nerve. if you are concerned ALWAYS get it checked out by a doc, but hopefully someone with at least some weightlifting experience. Any GP doc will probably just tell you "oh well, don't do that".

Does it happen during any other exercise? Try using a slightly different posture, or switch to pendlay rows.

ive had it before, especially on rows.generally its the nerve that runs down your arm (brachial i think) that gets pressure put on it. it runs dead center down the middle, muscle tension/pressure from the bicep can aggravate it. just my thoughts because it tends to start at the elbow. if it were all the way down the arm, I'd be more concerned because it could be at the neck.

It only happens when I use the T-Row machine...I can use different equipment it's just that I love the T-Row :)

Thanks for your answer!

My arm is like that now.....started when i got about 225 on my dead lifts, left arm, starts at the elbow and then my thumb goes numb......it only happens when i deadlift, or if im sitting with my arm completely bent. Wont mess anything up, its just annoying.

nerve impingement isn't fun, if you can find an ART doc certified to do nerve work then see what they say about it.
