This article seems to be pretty accurate. I hate it when people claim "Einstein believed in god!" without understanding what they are saying.

As an aside (well, not really), I don't tell most people outside of the net my ideas regarding religion. People tend to see me as more enigmatic and interesting that way. They probably project their own beliefs onto their conceptions of my persona. The same thing probably happens with some peoples' conceptions of the personas of influential and authoratative figures (such as Einstein).
