Just got back into lifting about a month ago and havn't dead lifted yet. Should I go ahead and start trying to do them or should I wait for somebody to make sure I have the right form? If I wait it could be another few weeks :(

Why are you just getting back? Injury? Break? etc?

I would start doing them light to get the feel for them. Then maybe have someone check out your form before you start adding a lot of weight to them.

Cheers,

agreed. form is key, so make sure you get that down before loading up the plates.

I agree..never to late to start..start with whatever weight u feel comfortable with, maybe even just the bar..concentrate on form and slowly add weight each week making sure you dont deviate from correct form..be consistent and before you know it youll be pulling huge numbers!

Just coming back because for awhile I got lazy and decided I didn't need to lift. Bad idea. I'll be lifting and not missing a day on my routine all summer.

Id experiment with form and see what feels right. Try to keep the back fairly straight and look up to the ceiling. Some rounding of the back works better for some people. Depends on your body structure, arm length, etc. I would just get into deadlifting and see what you can do. Maybe ask some knowledgable lifters about form to get a general idea. Or even better, do some research on here. I learned alot from the members here on improving my form. The best way to get used to deadlifting is by doing it. It felt awkward for me when I first deadlifted, but I got 300 the first time I tried it at 19. I didnt do it for years after that. After a while it became less awkward. Now its my favorite exercise. Squats I still havent gotten the form on yet, but I almost never do them. PM me with any questions. Best of luck!!
