egg yolks?

I take eggs everyday as part of my high protein diet, but have read about the yolk being too high in cholesterol and that I should only eat egg whites?

Is this true..how bad is eating egg ( including yolks) everyday?Anybody knows about this?

Yolk has more saturated fats, hence more cholesterol. I usually eat 1 whole egg for every 3 egg whites. saturated fats you do need to watch out for, but good fats found in flaxseed oil, olive oil, etc. do help a great deal when you are cutting. Some would even say you need to eat fat to lose fat.

It's a proven fact that cholesterol found in food has very little effect on your body's cholesterol levels, so go head and eat your eggs. I eat an 8 egg omlatt for breakfast however I only keep 1 yolk, and at lunch I have 8 eggs in a egg salad with only 1 yolk.
1 yolk has 3 gm of protein and 6 gm of fat. So if you are concerned just eat your whites.

Thanks for the enlightening responses guys..anyone got any opnions on how many eggs it's safe to eat per day/week?

There's no way to answer that unless you can tell us what your activity level is and your diet. If you're an average american who is sedentary and does not workout or run i think RDA recommends 1 egg/week. But since none of us are in that case (i hope) we can eat a lot more b/c we burn more calories, we need to eat more food, and fats wont affect us like they would the other guys who do nothing all day and week in terms of activity.

Still if you cut your saturated fats, it would still be good idea to increase your good fats, like the ones found in flaxseed oil (which are full of omega 3's), olive oil, and occasionally peanut butter.

Typical breakfast and snack for me would be for ex.
oatmeal, whey, and 1 tablespoon of flax.
snack would be 1 chicken breast, 1 cup of rice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
point is don't be afraid of good fats.

rez saturated fats are hard for the body to burn so they can be easily stored as fat when you are not using alot of energy, therefore flaxseed is a better choice because it is unsaturated fat and also has the three essential fatty acids.

Omega-3 enriched eggs are also available, and are what I personally use(I eat about 2-3 a day, yolks and all.) They have about 150mg of DHA per egg. A moderate amount of saturated fat in the diet is not a problem either, and can lead to slightly increased testosterone levels(Not sure how significant this is in the real world, though.)

I am trying to lose major body fat right now and I 'm eating anywhere between 2000 -2500 calories a day. The only real fatty thing i eat are 2 hard boiled eggs at a time as one of the 7 times a day I'm eating. Is this a good thing? or a bad way to lose weight? I do work out 4 times a week and just getting back in the gym. I eat eggs mainly because they are easy and fast on the go and at work. Should I cut them out ? or just the yolks? My idea is that 2 a dayare not hurting anything. Just a filling 160 cal. meal withe some protien as far as I look at it.
