Egg Whites In Bulk....

Hi Ladies-

I wanted to know if anyone has purchased "egg whites" in bulk quantities , or do you just seperate them the old fashion way? :Chef:

I am looking for a time saver , and I am considering purchasing from one of the following companies......

The cost is only slightly higher than buying a carton , plus when you factor in the time saved on cracking and seperating , it isn't bad at all.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I haven't bought them in bulk, but do buy the 100% egg whites cartons from Trader Joes. It's 2.5 cups (about 12+ eggs' worth of whites) for $1.99. Ingredients state that it is 100% egg whites only and they have an expiration period of about 2 months. I find them extremely convenient to use and am far too lazy to deal with real eggs.

Thanks Rooney-

I was buying the one's from Trader Joe's also , but since I live in Los Angeles , there seems to be a larger population of "healthy" people so they were always sold out..very frustrating.

I actually ended up ordering from Egg White Int. , turns out they are based here , so my "whites" arrived the next day , in a freezer safe container.

The price was very reasonable , 32.00 for (2) containers of about 84 egg whites each!!! and the delivery was only 8.00.

that seems alittle expensive to me, but your supply wouldn't last me the week. :(

But hey at least you get your egg whites. :)

Not to bad , I based it on the small carton from Trader Joe's , which works out to about .17 per egg white , with this I pay .19 cents , not including the shipping. But I figure I spend at least $8.00 in time and gas driving to several stores trying to find them :)

I buy eggs in bulk from costco - usually 4 x 18 cartons (=72) at a time - that amounts to about $7 I think.

If I'm in a time crunch I'll scramble up my eggs the night before & nuke as needed. God knows I've eaten plenty of eggs cold while driving to the gym as well...

Me too!! I actually LIKE them cold now or cold hard-boiled.
