Effective Stimulants

I’ve got to pull an all night 9 hr drive to Milwaukee next weekend and need some help. In your guys opinions what are some good stimulants that don’t have stomach problems. When I used to take ephedrine I would get nauseous and caffeine doesn’t keep me awake anymore. Any good diet supplements etc that do a good job of raising your energy level without turning my stomach into a knot ?

gee... weird question. but if u dont want to use caffiene nor ephedrine, I'd say green tree extract. Or clen?

I hear ritalin and allderal (sp?) will keep you awake for long periods. There is another stimulant, and I can't remember the name! On one of the elite fitness emails awhile back it said "XXXX makes sleep obsolute". I think it's the stuff they give pilots. Maybe it will come to me.

Nicotine gun eh ? Ill have to give it a try, not all to excited about getting adicted to juicyfruit though :) Any other ideas ?

I’ve never used it, but there’s a drug called modafinil…
A double-blind, placebo-controlled investigation of the efficacy of modafinil for sustaining the alertness and performance of aviators: a helicopter simulator study.

ABSTRACT

RATIONALE: In 1998, the FDA approved modafinil for treating excessive daytime sleepiness in narcoleptics, and this has raised questions about the appropriateness of this compound for enhancing alertness in sleep-deprived controls. This study explored the efficacy of modafinil for maintaining the performance of volunteers required to accomplish highly demanding tasks despite sleep loss.

OBJECTIVE: The principal objective was to determine whether prophylactic doses of modafinil would attenuate decrements in aviator performance and arousal throughout 2 days and 1 night without sleep.

METHODS: Six pilots were exposed to two 40-h periods of continuous wakefulness. In one, three 200-mg doses of modafinil were given and in the other, matching placebos were administered. Helicopter simulator flights, resting EEGs, and Profile of Mood States (POMS) questionnaires were evaluated.

RESULTS: Modafinil attenuated sleep deprivation effects on four of six flight maneuvers, reduced slow-wave EEG activity, and lessened self-reported problems with mood and alertness in comparison to placebo. The most noticeable benefits occurred between 0330 and 1130 hours, when the combined impact of sleep loss and the circadian trough was most severe. The most frequently observed drug side effects were vertigo, nausea, and dizziness. These could have been related to: 1) the motion-based testing, 2) the use of a simulator rather than an actual aircraft (i.e., "simulator sickness"), and/or 3) the administration of more than 400 mg modafinil.

CONCLUSIONS: Modafinil is a promising countermeasure for sleep loss in normals; however, additional studies aimed at reducing side effects are needed before it should be used in aviators.

That addiction is a myth.

Addiction is associated with a habit, ie, you have eat, and then smoke or have sex then smoke. If you use a chem for it's intended use, that is to solve a problem and not for some high, then it works just fine.

Ie, opiates like oxycontin ARE NOT addictive if the people take them for the pain and all too many have used them in such a way which is why they are still on the market. The problem then becomes with people who take them to get high, just like with most forms nicotine comes in.

modafinil is great. Not sure about its availibility. Aderol is all over the place and will definitely keep you up for 9 hours. I wouldn't make it through college w/ out aderol.

While we are talking about stimulants... My buddy's younger cousin has been taking adderoll for some time, and just recently his doctor prescribed him a new drug. I don't remember the name, but the effects are supposed to be the same as adderoll, however you only need to take one pill every 3days. My buddy used this shit during finals week and said it was legit. He said he could even fall asleep w/out problems. Anyone know the name of this. I'll be hanging out with this guy this weekend, so I'll make another post this weekend or early next week with some real info on this drug.

MikeyG - when are we gonna see some post cycle pics. Those mid cycle pics were SICK!!!

ditto on modafinil!
adderall, deprenyl should do the trick.
ritalin is poor man's coke.
nicotine is great if you have virgin receptors, if you've been using stimulants for a long time it might be too weak to induce any difference.
add some taurine and acetyl-l-tyrosine to potentiate the action of stimulants; if you opt for drugs also add ALCar it will protect your neural system from metabolites, especially amphetamines. Adding B-complex might also be very beneficial.

Might be dostinex or selegiline/deprenyl - DA agonists, that's what i'm using for my finals: memory+ability to focus way up, without stressing the CNS so naturally you can go to sleep; use it EOD or EOOD.

How about some Didrex, it's a dirivetive of amphetimes that'll keep ya awake for sure. And you only need one.

P.S. addiction is is the mind man, so how strong are you,
what kind of man are you?

Red Bulls work well for me. Get a couple of those and you'll be good to go. They dont make you jittery or make you nauseous.

Thermorexin... the great thing with it is there's no crash either like with caffeine/ephedrine (at least for me)

adderall/ritalin/dexedrin are great for driving, but not if you don't want the usual amphetamine side effects (i.e. - fucked up stomach, tiny dick, etc)

My friends and I in high school use to drink methamphetamine in chocolate milk, every morning. Made the "shift" at school go by so much quicker. When we went and did not go to the park to smoke doobage. Heehee
Now that I am older I take Nature's Chi by Nature's Sunshine. They rock! ;;ma huang, ginseng, dong qui, ho shou wu, astragalus, guarana, etc. Be sure to take those B vitamins too!!

Are you serious?

Guarana seems to work differently for those who have a tough time with caffeine, too.

Haha!! Well thanks for the compliment dude! I just opened an online journal here at:

MikeyG's Online Journal @ IronMagazine.com

I'll get some recent pics up soon, dont wanna use the shitty webcam again. I haven't gained any more size, but gotten much leaner simply because of the drastic diet change.

Nicotine and chocolate are two legal stimulants that help me stay awake. It may not be possible for your upcoming trip, but if so simply get a lot of rest the day before you head to Wisconsin.

tyrosine and phenylalanine, too.

Take 100mcg of t3 as that will help as well. Not all in one dose, of course.

back in '91 I got off work at about 4am,drove from cincinnati to state college,PA..picked up my brother and we both split the driving on the return trip...got back in time for my next work shift at 9PM..worked my bartending shift and got home that night/morning at about 5AM..I quess I was up about 36 hours straight..driving and high volume bartending...all I did was drink coffee constantly...this was back before all the OTC stuff out now..actually not much different than finals week, where it was quite common to sleep about 6 hours over 3 days..coffee alone too..well coffee and copenhagen...one guy would make instant coffee sandwiches...folgers instant coffee betw 2 slices of bread..I think he's a doctor now

Try and 8-Ball... you'll shit once or twice but be good to go!! :)
EAS has a product called Kick Start.... I've uses it a few times - has good punch and not much of a crash...
You can also try plain ol' Vivrin

did he say coffee sandwiches>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

WHOLLLYYYY SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

I'll never complain again............

Oh my god! Somebody was allowed to plug a supplement from another company!

Anyhow, another good stim is PEA which can be found in chocamine and I'd tell where to get it, but then this info would be deleted.

It's cheap and works along different lines than caffeine, but if you are getting too much from caffeine or PEA, then take some green tea or theanine which will leave the stim, but take off the edge.

If you know anyone that has multiple sclerosis, the modafinil is prescribed for ms related fatigue under the name "provigil." If you do, ask them for like one pill of 200 mg and pop it when you can't stay up anymore.

This reply is probably a little late, but anyway....

When you say ephedrine makes you nauseous I wonder if you took several pills at once without any caffeine. I constantly take a single 25 mg epedrine with a single 200 mg caffeine pill. Several ephedrines at once do make me a little nauseous- that may be partly because they have to put extra shit in there to make it harder to make meth out of. Caffeine by itself doesn't tend to keep me awake either. But a single ephedrine with a single caffeine pill does wonders for me, 1 to 4 times a day, and you don't build tolerance nearly as quickly as you would think. I'm over 200 pounds and have been taking ephedrine for a long time and I still get something out of it. (I would say 25 mg of ephedrine and 200 mg of caffeine would do more to keep me awake than 6 cups of coffee.) A break from time to time does seem to make it work better though.

I have though seen some research (whether it was quoted out of context or not I'm not sure) that suggests that extended ephedrine use can actually reduce the jitters you experience from occasional use and increase some of the positive effects on metabolism. (Possibly people are so concerned about cycling it because of the legacy of clen which the body attenuates incredibly fast? I know that at one time fitness writers like Bill Phillips were recommending ephedrine and caffeine be used in pretty much the same manner as clen.)

I read the article on Modafinil and it seemed pretty interesting, but I did a search on it here and this was the most recent thread that popped up about it so there must not be too many people with access to it.

I see a lot of people recommending green tea extracts but it has been my understanding that most of the products you get promissing green tea extracts are basically giving you herbal caffeine at unknown dosages. If I'm not mistaken, green tea is simply regular tea which is harvested early, thus other than extra antioxidants and phytochemicals that early harvesting preserves there isn't much magical to it. (And there was a study done recently indicating that hot cocoa has several times more antioxidants than green tea anyway.) Too, my experience is that herbal caffeine and herbal ephedrine (ephedra) are even more apt to cause nausea than their pharmaceutical grade OTC counterparts .

I did just go grab a bottle of green tea extract I had sitting around (got it on sale awhile back before I heard the whole bottle contains about as many antioxidants as a packet of Nestle's cocoa) and it does state that it is standardized to 50% polyphenol catechins, not sure what that means, but you can bet if it was anything magical aside from caffeine it would probably be synthasized and sold as a supplement (or drug) unto itself. I'll pop about 10 of them and tell you if they keep me up all night.

Also, as was alluded to, caffeine and/or caffeine and ephedrine plus nicotine gum or dip/snuff/chew is one OTC combination that will in fact help you stay awake and drive like a motherfucker (done myself on many a 4 to 10 hour drive on barely any sleep) but as soon as you start enjoying that combination you're pretty well addicted to the nicotine (at least if you go the tobacco route.) As one poster was saying, it's the associations with the habit that cause the addiction, sort of like the college kid that gets used to staying up all night with a pot of coffee smoking cigarettes and cramming for a test and can't kick the habit because he associates the combination with energy and focus.

Meth - The truck driver's number choice for a stimulant to keep them driving hour after hour. Okay. It was a toungue in cheek joke. Many, many truck drivers do use Meth, but there are better choices fro your drive. Macro's suggestions are the best and they are all legal and OTC.

You could very well get nauseated from a hypersensitivity to eph driving your blood glucose too low.

Hypersensitivity to caffeine can cause this, too.

Simply said, your glucose is low and your adrenalin levels are changing which equals nausea.

pop 3 clens every 2 hours.
my promise youll stay wide awake!~
