EF New Orleans members?

Wasn't there a guy from NO who posted the other day saying 'hope i don't perish'? He sounded like he was staying in the city.

Anyone know how that guys is and other NO EF members?

sublime 35 was in gulfport, ms and he was riding it out.

On a side note...I'm from the Uk but i was speaking to my gf tonight and she thinks that the houses on the news didn't look very strong (made out of wood)...are a lot of houses in America like this?

In areas where storms are likely why not build more solid homes?

These areas are largely poor sections along the gulf coast. Not that there are some rather nice homes and areas around there.

These places have been around for a very long time before people had ever heard about building codes and hurricane proof structures.

NO is very old and unique and is/was a throwback into the jazz area. Largely populated by poor people. Sure there are rich people there but for the majority that is not the case. The infrastructure and housing is from another era and is a drawing card for it's southern hospitality and party atmosphere. There is a lot of history there.

MattSkyWalker used to live there so he could probably shed more info on the housing makeup of these areas.
