People in Italy who regularly eat pizza are less likely to have heart attacks than those who don’t eat pizza.

Pizza is a traditional Italian food and one of the most popular foods in the world. In its simplest form, it is made of a wheat flour crust risen with yeast, coated with olive oil and tomato sauce, and topped with mozzarella cheese. One large study found that women who eat two or more servings of pizza per week have a 34% lower risk of heart disease than women who don’t eat pizza. Other studies have suggested that some pizza ingredients, such as tomatoes (with their powerful antioxidant lycopene) and olive oil, can protect against heart disease.

Nice isn't it ?

OK, that may not apply to us but it is good to know for your next binge
:)

there's gotta be a huge difference from American Pizza and Italian pizza. I know one has to be the amount of sweetners and processed items used at your local Dominoes.

Right

US pizza = thicker crust, more cheese, more vegetable oil, less vegetables

Also keep in mind that over in Italy they make their pizza without the aid of processed junk and extra fattening pepperoni.

I say give me some dough, some of grandma's sauce, some mozerella, mild cheddar, paramasean, bell peppers from my backyard with some red onions and I'm happy too cook.

Holy shit! One whole large? Delivery, frozen, or homemade? What's your BF%? A typical large plain cheese Pizzahut pizza is around ;

2640 Calories,
96g of Fat,
54g Saturated Fat,
324g Carbs,
132g of Protein,
6600mg of Sodium,
60g of sugar.

:eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

What else do you consume on your "cheat" day?

Thats just a plain large hand-tossed. They are direct from Pizza hut so I'm not sure how accurate (conservative) they are. :worried:

I was regularly eating one to two medium pan pizzas a week, extra cheese included. I dont have cheat days in my diet, just EAT days. They used to have that 5$ take out deal in my area.

good thing I usually make a little 6-8" pizza italian-style, loaded up with broccoli and green pepper, and eat that for my cheat meal every week!

If you want to really carb up and eat crap, try this, it's quick/easy:
buy a Boboli crust, some of the pre-made Bob Evans mashed potatoes or whatever other kind they sell at the grocery store (or make your own, but the BE kind they sell at the store is good enough for this and quicker), cheddar cheese, real bacon bits and green onion. Heat the potatoes halfway, mix in a little cheddar, bacon, green onion to your liking, spread it on the pizza crust, and cover the whole thing with cheddar, more bacon, and green onions to your liking. Bake according to the directions on the crust. MMM soooo good but like a whole month's worth of carbs!

Broccoli has no business on pizza. you have your health food and your cheat food. Some line shouldn't be crossed. LOL.... :chomp:

Thats just there so I don't feel too bad about following the pizza up with a nice scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream :)

If I wasn't so tired from work and the gym I would go grab a gallon of Ice cream and hug it right about now.

i always save my cheat day for sunday, a large pizza like i said, sometimes a "super sub" from this place Tonys, and some bagels. My monday workouts always rock and i feel strong as fuck

I wish I could cheat like that and have a good workout. I always feel like complete shit after entire cheat days and my cardio on Monday morning sucks. A cheat meal and a cheat snack here and there (which is what I normally do...cheat meal usually Sat night, cheat snacks--like one chocolate chip cookie--once or twice a week), I'm fine. But if I go all out, forget it. I just want to stay in bed the next morning.
