Quick tip...ever hear of Tulip brand pita-bread?
They're called "The Perfect Pocket"...the white variety has 27g of protein! Stuff that with chix or tuna and you're set for a meal...eat up!

FYI

I get mine at a place called Trader Joes here in ny

they carry them in the grocery store (Publix here)...however some don't carry them (like Winn Dixie)
I'm sure you could ask them to order them....cheap too!

I thought plant protein was unless for human consumption, I eat 400 protein from animal sources and not even taking in consideration protein from oatmeal or peanut butter. whats your take on this guess, is plant protein uses less or could it prove to be some value!

it's not useless but you should really try to get all your protein from animal sources.

peanut butter is a good source of protein, last time i saw it was still considered in the meat family.

27g of protein from pita bread should not be counted as a protein source;it is rather a carb source...bread and all starches alike contain a high amount of carbs...how many carbs does it consist of???...fyi

Beans should not be counted as a proteins source because they contain mostly carbohydrates.

Peanutbutter should not be considered a protein source because it contains mostly fat and sugar.

Eggs should not be considered a protein source because of their high fat content.

Milk should not be considered a protein source becuase it is mosly sugar and fat.

Nutritionally, isn't any source of protein a useable source? Broiled chicken breast contains fat. Should it be counted? Steak contains more fat. etc.etc. Protein is protein. If your body can use it, it will. If it can't you'll piss it out.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't egg whites have zero fat?

32g of carbs

egg whites have no fat..also you can go with no fat milk....theres protein in peanut butter however it's high in calories.when adding protein try to get a variety. Whey protein is a grain same as soy..all proteins count towards your daily total.......RADAR

what is this shit about eggs and milk and peanut butter and bread as non-protein sources? If something has protein in it, then it's a SOURCE of protein, simple as that... Yes your body can use the protein in all those things, including beans, and many many grain sources...

Maybe i'm misunderstanding something, but can someone please explain to me how a pita bread can have 27 grams of protein??

Are u talking about tha whole bag... maybe you are, each pita bread should have about 5 grams of protein, more than likely there are about 6 servings per container.. yeilding about 30grams of protein.

Or are these some special protein pitas??
Wouldn't they be extremely expensive if this was tha case?

anywayz somebody please clear it up.

peace :fro:

i agree w/ radar and foreverblast. protien is protien. yeah, you may be taking alot of other shit w/ it, but it still counts. throw the egg yolkes away and you're getting rid of all the fat/cholesterol. as a matter of fact, peaunut butter is a great source of (good) fat and protien.

uh as far as i know

everything has protein in it. the reasoin why animal proteins are preferable to say meat proteins is the the amount of protein/gram food and the quality of protein.

plant protein usually misses some of the essential amino acid u need.

meats occasionally do as well.

the two perfect proteins (have evrythingh u need in the closest proportions to what u need) are albumin (eggs) and caesin (milk)]

but the richest source of protein is meat.

i hae read that quinoa is a good quality source of protein, its not particularly rich though (16.7% of mass is protein)....any one munch it?
