easy (stupid)question about E-Mail

Do you have to write www. when writing to someone`s E-Mail address on AOL?

How about the other way around? From AOL to this address, [email protected] ? The @mail.ru is the correct address the abcdef is made up.

My friend is trying to E-mail someone to the ru adress. He`s not really sure if it`s a website or just an E-Mail addy. He was given this, [email protected]

there is no www in front of email addresses

however you can have something like

[email protected]

the dot is allowed. SO unless the email was specifically "www.abcdefg" then you dont need to add a www in front. Www is only for internet addresses not for emails

Actually it is possible that it is [email protected], if the person's user name on that mail service is "WWW.abcdef"

BUT... Could it be She gave him a website address that goes to her E-Mail account? Is that possible? I`m not familiar with how this stuff works. I told my buddy I would ask on here.

He just came back fro Italy and got someone`s E-mail addy from the Ukrain I think. He was there over a month. lucky bastard.

Just send an email to both addresses and one (most likely www.xxx) will get bumped back to you for not being valid. Problem solved.
