how the fuck do i pull that off ?

plug one end in to your desktop ethernet (internet) jack, and do the other end into your laptop ethernet jack.

Each computer should show up on network.

Then drag/drop, copy/paste your music back and forth.

It's lightning fast too.

if that works , i might change my mind about hating you (doubtful but maybe)

Note: you may have to restart.

also note: you will lose internet connection since you will have to unplug it for the ethernet port.
but that was my plan all along.

i connected the cable and nothin happened , is there something i should click or what??

What OS are you running?

In 2000 I think I open My computer and/or Windows explorer and go under the network. It usually shows up automatically, although sometimes you may have to search for the other computer by detecting or typing in the name.

You only have to do this once though. When you can read/access the other computer make a shortcut somewhere.

and like I mentioned, did you reset both computers while the ethernet cable was connected to each first?

I bet angel could have figured it out.

are you using an ethernet cable or are you using a cross-over ethernet cable?
There's a big difference. It wont work without a cross-over.

I give up

I don't even remember what the original question was now

I was just asking so you'd think I actually cared and was trying to help.

Maybe try Start>Search>Computer or People....then type in the name of the other computer

or

Start>My Computer>My Network Places>Add a Network Place, or something in there
