easiest way to get a script for paxil?

a paxil script is not hard to get at all. go to the gp and complain of social anxiety, sleeplessness, anxiousness, depression. Then ask for it by name.

Go to your Dr or a Psychiatrist, tell them that you are experienceing panic attacks pretty frequently, particularly in social situations. Paxil is the number one prescribed drug for Social Anxiety Disorder. Tell them that you hae a sister, cousin, etc., who is being treated with Paxil and it has worked wonders for them. They will not have a problem prescribing this to you.

great..thanks guys...I will talk to my doc about it then. I don't have extreme anxiety like some people do...but it's still inhibiting in certain circumstances, like in a big room of people. So I'll give it a shot to see what this drug can do..i've heard great things about it from some of my friends who are on it. They have totally changed their metnallity..they don't give a shit now..it's kinda cool, but they can get to be too much to handle sometimes....i'll have to check it out for myself..i like trying new drugs :)

ur doc may also try and prescribe u effexor xr for anxiety..from what i understand paxil is much more effective than effexor..if ur doc does try and go the effexor route i would just tell him or her that uve heard bad things and would prefer to try the paxil first..good luck

I know that stuff helps some, but be careful. IT REALLY MESSED ME UP! I couldn't get it up. I didn't care about anything. No happy, no sad. NOTHING mattered to me. I was fine sitting in my room and watching the wall. It was really weird and sad. If you really think you need it then go ahead, but if you can survive without it DON'T DO IT!

I don't think I absolutely need it at all, but i would like to try it to see if it can even help a little...i am aware of all the potential sides, including the ones you have mentioned...hopefully i don't get them.

I chose paxil over other meds because I've just been reading up on this med and it seems like it can help..plus a couple of my friends have tried them all and say that paxil would probably be your best bet for my slight social anxiety mentality. Of course, if the sides outwiegh the benefits, i will just ween myself off of it. Heard the withdrawl symptons can get pretty bad too, but fuck it. I have nothing to lose in the long term.

EXACT SAME THING HERE.

I've taken all kinds of anti-depresents, to many to name. Paxil will make your dick a limp noodle and if you don't need it I would advise against taking it. It sounds to me you expect to get a high off it, that won't happen. Maybe a mild benzo would be better (but addicting) xanax, ativan. klonapins, ect, ect for social situations wihout the side effects of an anti-depresant.

can you take paxil occassionaly, like an hour before you have a social situation, or do you have to take it everyday for an extended period of time to see any effects?

TRUST ME, YOU DON'T WANT TO PLAY GAMES WITH PAXIL-IT IS FOR SERIOUS MENTAL PROBLEMS. THE SIDE EFFECTS ARE BAD, SO WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO ON IT? I'VE BEEN ON IT FOR OVER A YEAR AND AM TRYING TO WEAN MYSELF OFF OF IT DUE TO SIDE EFFECTS.

This is my EXACY experience with this "poison". It robbed me of my life now that I reflect back on it. I firmly feel that the best thing to happen in my life was not being put on Paxil, but coming off of it. Nothing mattered when I was on it. All I wanted to do was lay around all day. I had no mottivation at all. I didn't want to get out of bed and that was fine with me. I became numb to everything including the joys in life. I honestly felt worse on it than I did before I started taking it for depression/severe anxiety. It did absolutely nothing for the anxiety and only made me numb towards the depression. Everything was still there, I had simply become a zombie. I couldn't think clearly and what it did to my physique was even more depressing. I had enough of "not living" and not feeling and decided to come off. When I did I had a new perspective on life. I was MOTIVATED again and could enjoy simple things again. I could actually get myself out of bed and get stuff done. My performance in the gym sky rocketed as did my progress physique wise. It felt so good to want again. Whatever it was it was just nice to have that desire back. It was a year in hell in my book. I did gain a new outlook on life and mental abilities, however. I have found I can controll everything (anxiety/depression) on my own for one very simple reason...I now make the effort to do so. Before I never tried to think things through or anylize the sources of my problems. I just let the wave of doubt and constant concern carry me where ever. No more do I do that. I was diagnosed a serriously depressed as well, so the arguement that "for some they can't help it, it's all chemical" just doesn't carry any weight with me anymore because I now that you can help it if you try. Most people just don't try. They think worrying constantly about thier problems is trying...It's finding the source of your problems and counterbalacing or eliminating them that is considered trying. What started off as 20mg of paxil moved to 80mg. Then onto buspar and then on to xanax. I was a product of the "drug for everything" mentaltiy the pharmecuetical industry thrives on and propagates. So I stopped the Buspar and Xanax, but was still simply a shadow figure of my chemically induced life. So I stopped the Paxil and life felt whole again. Just my experience and I will vehemently say it wasn't worth it.

No. It takes several weeks to months to "work".

Be aware that Paxil is pretty hard to get off of. I used it for a year with good success but when I stopped using it I had to deal with eletrical body zaps for a month or so. It kinda feels like sticking one of those 9 volt batteries on your tongue, except it's all over your body. It's pretty weird.

This is obviously dependent upon the dose and individual. I took 20mg/day for quite some time, and experienced the shocks for two-three days. Xanax helps to get through the withdrawls.

Yeah, I was only on 10mg a day and I tried to cut down to 5mg and I started getting zaps so I just went cold turkey. The zaps were only bad for about 5-7 days, but I didn't feel completely normal for about a month. Some people never get the zaps and some people get them pretty bad. But since your doctor will never tell you about them, people should realize before starting Paxil that it is a possibility.

paxil affects everyone different..yes it did give me that "could care less about anything" feeling but it helped tremendously with my anxiety and depression..i was on it for about 6 months and decided it was time to come off..went off cold turkey and didnt have any withdraw symptoms(very rare since most people experience sever withdrawl)..now i feel much better..IMO paxil is not a life long med but rather a crutch to get u through the hard times..if ure really depressed and anxious i would give it a try..
