Ear wax?

Yes q tips are no good for you. All they do is make the wax more compacted deeper in the canal. I have problems with both of my boys so I have been around the block a time or two with the wax build up and such.
Honestly KB, docs have these little tools that they use. You may be able to get them at drug stores. They look some what like a crotchet(sp) hook.Some of them may have a small o at the end, others have the scoop like the hook.
Those seem to work best,IMO.
Also I know it sounds retarded but when they get built up too much try using a hot compress pad and hold it against your ear. The heat will loosen the wax better.

I always use a bobby pin, and that pulls out wax. But I just use it to scratch with when I get an itch inside my ear, not to pull out wax. I've pulled out some pretty big potato chips over the years.

Ear Candles

Seriously man, just buy a couple 'ear candles' from GNC or some health food store. YOu light them on fire and insert the small end into your ear. Let it burn down pretty good (it will take a while), and then take it out, blow it out.

If you are feeling pretty brave, you can peel the paper apart and see exactly what came out of your ear. It will usually fill up a good inch or two!
