I rented E.T. 2 months ago and it was so boring. Nothing like I remember when I saw it for the first time when I was a kid...
Well I for one am over fucking whelmed.
Warik - Weapons, no are not solely made for killing people. But that's not what I said. I said a weapon. Referring to a 9mm, a 45, whatever they carry in the movie. A pistol of some sort. What is a pistol designed to shoot? Bears?
No, a gun is not fired in E.T. from what I can recall either. However, I did say I could give a rat's ass. When I said this, I was letting you know that I could give two shit's if they carried or fired a pistol or a potato launcher. It wouldn't matter, not because of the violence it promotes, but because it has no bearing whatsoever on the movie. None.
Natural Born Killer's was a fucking badass movie my friend. Definately. You are right when you say that I am good at reading into things, however that is besides the point. That has nothing to do with our conversation. I was explaining that if you feel the need to watch a movie that promotes violence or a weapon used for destruction, watch a different movie. The children won't care about gun's they can't see, nor the gun's they never knew where there in the first place.
Regardless of what anyone in the government said, Spielberg has the final decision. He re-thought the decision he made 20 years ago my friend. He took out a part he wishes he never put in. 20 years ago when he made and released the movie, children didn't shoot other children at school Warik. They do now. Spielberg see's this.
As we've agreed, it really does not matter. Therefore, why put them in a children's movie, if, as you clearly pointed out... they are not used anyway.
