Dyeing Hair

How many of you have dyed your hair and what color and how much did you pay?

I am thinking about dyeing my hair , well actually highlight brown then some other 2 or 1 set of other colors. I already have an appointment set up and they said it would cost about 110 dollars. Is this too much or is this just about the right price.

My hair is about at my waist :)

i am a hair dresser and 110$ is a steal for the length of your hair. for 2 or 3 colors at that length w/o a cut I would do about 130$. do they know how long your hair is?

I've done it myself for years but since it is now to the middle of my back I want to start having it done at a salon. For my length of hair it's around $75 or higher to have it dyed at a salon. The price varies per salon.

I'm a natural redhead but I dye my hair in a darker shade of red. I like it better than my natural shade.

That's the overall price that they gave me 110. So I guess is a good deal and yes they know how long my hair is because I went on there on person and made an appointment.

I am natural black, what color do you think it would look good on me. I am planning it to dye it brown highlights then not sure about the other color. I already have a caramel brown highlith on my hair but wasn't really satisfied ( previous hair dresser that I went to sucks). I showed them a picture of the hair that I really want and they said is possible. :)

The colour that'll suit you will depend on your skin tone and eye colours too, but the hairdresser can probably help you best with that. They have loads of charts in my salon with little curls of hair in all the different colours and they match them up together, and you decide from that.

For your length of hair they'd charge about $160 in my hairdressers, and I don't go to a really expensive one either, mine's a kinda middle priced one. Everything seems cheaper over there grrrrrrrrrr

I used to pay $210 for triple foil highlights and a hair cut when I was a blonde. My hair is down to the bottom of my bra strap in the back. Now my hair is dark brown and I just put semi permanent color or a glaze on it myself at home. My haircuts are $75. $110 is a good price if the hairstylist is good.

I actually went to cosmetology school and have a license . Just to warn you , when you do more than one color the up keep is very important and very frequent. Be carefull when looking at color charts, because the hair on those charts are white when colored therefore your hair may not come out THAT color. and yes you really need to let them know how long your hair is, that makes a huge difference. Not only in the amount of color they will be using, but in the time it will take them to process you. Trust me, time is money when it comes to color. TO BE HONEST, I really don't know how they gave you a price without looking at your hair and determining what they would use and how much of it. I would be a little skeptical on that price.
