Jack Nicholson and Kathy Bates.

Generally a depressing movie. Guy gets bumped into retirement, his wife dies, he finds out his wife had an affair with his best friend, his daughter is marrying a loser and he sees Kathy Bates nude(and so so we).

Unless you want to see a brilliant acting performance by Nicholson...save your money

A scrupples question about the plot that corn just said. Say that happened to you your wife died and you found out your best friend had an affair with you wife. Do you blow off the friendship or do you keep it because you are depressed about your wife being gone and you need him to talk to.

There are several answers to your question curling it all depends upon how the person percieves their situation.

If they believe that their wife was a shrew they might thank him for slapping the roast beef and saving him the trouble.

If he thought his wife a saint he may be crushed and in a fit of rage kill his buddy and cook up up on a spit.

If he were bi he might not care either way...

etc...
You can crank these out for hours so it really renders your scrupples question a mote point.

The real question is what do you value and why?

i thought it was a great movie. Nicholsons performance alone is enough to check it out in my opinion.
