dunno how ya'll do cardio on an empty stomach..... :(

i just cannot do it.

i get the shakes, vision blurs slightly, i get light headed and grouchy.


i must eat something before...half a bagel, small serving of oatmeal.



am i negating the effects of cardio by doing this?

This topic came up on another board and the answer was, surprisingly, no. You should still get the body recompositioning effects. Also, If early morning empty stomach isn't great for you... try 3-4 hours empty any other time of day.
 
Ive never had a problem with am empty stomach cardio as far as problems...My only problem is rolling out of bed lol

I can take Thermorexin and ECA without eating...and i normally get ZERO sides, I dont know if Im a freak of nature or that none of the stims do anything for me lol

Who knows ? :-P

perhaps because i am border-line diabetic i have this problem?
 
I've heard argument for & against fasted cardio.....so really truly I don't know.....

I've gotten used to doing it...
 
i cant do it either and i am not diabetic......but i do eat light before AM cardio, like a glass skim milk and banana and is good to go.

is a myth anyways.

Me too JC.

To add, of course there are studies to support/knock each option, as with anything.

I love it.. I even train on empty early in the a.m. My body responds well to it.
 
I prefer "empty stomach" simply because I get cramps if I've eaten any time close to when I do cardio. But for AM cardio its also critical that I get it in before I start to get my first meal hunger pains. Then I'm done.

I think its always best to do cardio either before eating or just after having a VERY small snack when you first wake up, if you wake up hungry. But of course if you cant fit it in your schedule in the morning a couple days, doing cardio at some point during the day is better than not doing it at all :-)

Sorta like lifting, its better to do weights before cardio if your doing it all at the same time, but if you do cardio in the moring, its best to lift an hour or two before bed.

Some people STRESS doing cardio in the morning too much and if they cant do it in the morning they think that doing it later in the day isnt going to help. Overall I think it is best from a mental standpoint, even if the fat loss effects arent HUGE.

Yup - I cramp up easily too........and I like getting it done in the morning and having it over with.....

I do actually eat 1.5 hard boiled egg whites before morning cardio so I don't get nauseated from my fatburners.....
 
I can do cardio with no problems. I seem to lose more fat this way versus eating first. Lifting on an empty stomach early in the morning kills me though - can't do it.

I would eat something though if I got your symptons - not worth any little extra fat you might burn if you feel that way on an empty stomach.

sounds like hypoglycemia. if i drink to much caffeine or eat too much sugar in a day i get all shaky and get cold sweats and get super grumpy. my brother is a diabetic also so it runs in my family. so doing anyting on an empty stomach is out of the question for me, could be the same for you.
 
empty stomach cardio doesnt bother me at all but i can run longer if i have a little bit of food in my stomach. I like to run at night before bed.it puts me right to sleep and i wake up feeling great. I went from 228 to 203 in two months

I never had a problem...3+ years every single day......WAIT! Yes I did, I lost a TON of MASS! Now I only do it two times a week and I hate every 1/2 hour of it....I do it 3 hours after my first meal on the weekend....only difference is I have more energy and I'm not afraid I'm burning muscle....think about it, it's good for cutting but what is the body's fuel source after an 8 hour fast? Yup....glyogen....then what......muscle/fat combo....your choice....if you have the muscle to spare do it.....if not, refrain!
