DUI urine test

I didn't know they took urine samples for suspicion of DUI arrests.
I've heard that if you refuse a breathalyzer test, they can get a court order and forceably take a blood sample, but that just might be a rumor.

What happens is they give you a breathalyzer first, if you blow under 0.08 then they take a urine or a blood sample to test for drugs. The argument is if you apear intoxicated, and you test under 0.08 then you must be intoxicated by other drugs.

Good question / point.
I've read in the local Vegas newspaper that they'll check for a large variety of drugs in accidents involving fatalities. This woman passed out driving a SUV and killed three kids at a bus stop. They found Xanax in her system, but she a a script for them and the amount in her blood stream was close to the prescribed amount. All they could do to her was give her a couple of minor tickets, which naturally caused outrage with the families of the deceased. I think they've toughened up the laws in Vegas regarding driving while on legally prescribed meds if they can cause drowsiness, or dizzyness.
I think to check for Xanax a blood or urine test would be required.

first of all the police would have had to charge you with driving under the influence of narcotics, steroids do not alter or impair your motor skills. they would have no right to test for them. and it is costly.
