Dub?

umm, I just downloaded a full album from tosca. from what I hear dub is pretty hard to define. there is a hyoog grey area in dub. from tosca's songs, it just sounds pretty chill. give it a shot.

ps. I always thought dub songs were always remixes. this goes for every genre.

I think it is hard to define dub music.
I have a dub sample cd and all the sounds are really heavily processed with reverb and echoes/delays. even the drums. That might be one of it's prominent characteristics.

dub = remix. sometimes. short for dubplate in this case since most remixes are unauthorized so they can only pressed onto a dubplate or white label.

DUB

I will do some more research in this genre. it has intrigue me a bit, and i think this will be my next phase that will overtake me. first it was house, then jungle, now this...

Peoples champ,

Sounds like you're slowing it down. It's interesting how people's taste in dance music changes over time and with different styles.

I started with hip hop/rap in the late 80's, then rave and happy hard/hardcore early to mid 90's, then house and tech house in the late 90's and now anything techno/deep house with a harder edge to it.

no, I just like to have an extensive library of music. for certain moods, I like to listen to certain music. if I was studying, I dont want to be listening that is freaking pumping. but more often than not, I am always open to listen to anything at any given time. sheit, I even like mariachi's greatest artist, Vicente Fernandez. as well as Pepe Aguilar ;) . I just want to have music for every mood, ya know?

and no, I am not slowing it down, just adding to the archives.
