Dry CUrd Cottage cheese.........

Is this the ultimate protein, aside from meat products??? I mean, look at it....

1/2 cup
.05g of fat
20g of protein
1 sugar
2 carbs


Hmmm......maybe a new staple!
 
I ate that stuff so much it wasn't even funny. I got so completely sick of it, I have yet to "get back on it".

I will say, beyond downing a half a cup or a cup for a protien blast, it also makes a great additive to things like Chili, eggs, wraps, or whatever to add to the protien content. I still do drop a half a cup into my chile to up the protien.

Fantastic stuff (just don't get sick of it).

AKA - DRY cottage cheese.
 
How much were you eating?? I can literally go through a tub if I'm not careful.....esp. if you add some peanuts, some skim, and some whey, mix it up and freeze!!!!!!!!!
 
lol, Jkruz, I've read a lot of your posts and I must say that you are OBSESSED with peanuts! lol its cool tho, I love peanut butter but have yet to eat very much since a little e/d I had and Im afraid I would eat the whole jar. It wasnt a complusive e/d or anything I just stay away from foods that I may eat a lot of. But i do almost the same with cottage cheese, well kinda. I put cinnamon, splenda and freeze.
 
Its my pure addicition bro...........addicted to peanuts......cant remember the last time I didnt have them pre-bed............
 
I eat at least a 600g tub of the stuff every day, sometimes 2. I think you're right when you deemed it the "ultimate protein, aside from meat products"...plus, it takes absolutely no time to prepare.

Let me put it too you this way, the grocery store had to up their inventory cause they couldn't keep up with my demand on top of what they regularly sold.

You can understand why I'm off it for the most part now.

BTW, peanut guy here too (i have to right before bed, or I just can't sleep).
 
there is just behind dry curd that cant be explained........most normal people hate the taste.......we are def. of the minority..........

I prefer dry curd cottage cheese also or I've seen it called "pot style" depending on the brand....

It's not as goopy as regular cott. cheese -- I don't like the goopy factor....
 
You people all have mutant taste buds and are probably not from this earth imo. Also I have noticed that those that prefer these types of crappy tasting foods generally have no regard for true fine cuisine and would rather eat dry tasteless oats, baked yams(without butter!), and dry curd(eew!) looking to achieve or maintain this foreign thing called a 6 pack. I for one want no part of this contagious addiction!

On a side note, although the coveted 6 pack favored by so many is teh popular trend, it cannot replace sheer muscular size and power MUAHAHA!

"goopiness" has always been a factor in food choice!

I've been lobbying for a "goopiness" labeling law that would require a goopy measure right under trans fat content.

I guess I am weird, but dry curd cott. cheese is more like cream cheese to me.....But I don't like dry sweet potatoes....ugh!

Ghetto - who said DRY sweet potatoes...you have no idea bro......skim milk, splenda, cinnamon, and can't believe it aint butter...........none of my foods are bland dude......trust me.
 
I currently have 1 cup as one sometimes two of my daily meals.

If it's my first meal, prot + carbs, I cut apple chuncks and throw them in there with some oats. If it's not it's usually a prot + fat meal, so I'll just throw some natty peanut butter in it.
 
I eat it three times, last being before bed with some peanuts and casein........maybe some hot chocolate.......homemade of course.
 
Where do you guys find dry curd cottage cheese? I've looked in all my local grocery stores...and all I see is large curd, small curd, low sodium, low fat, fat free - nothing that says dry curd. Is it usually in the same section??

Ditto, and is the price cheaper than regular cottage cheese? I bet spoiling ain't a factor either...Do they make dry heavy whipping creme?

I cannot eat the stuff on its own....so to stomach it I put a whole tub in a blender, mix it with 1/4 pint of milk, add some cocoa powder and sweetner and there you go!!
 
Since no one else wants to answer the questions above I did some research (I was being lazy)

Dry curd cottage cheese (dccc) can be frozen, and when thawed the curd has a softer, lighter consistency which is useful when baking.

Dry curd cottage cheese may also be called "farmer's cheese" or "dry curd farmer cheese". Regardless of what it is called, it must meet the following criteria:

No milk products are added to cream the dry curd after the culture has worked on the curd (no milk is added after fermentation).

Man - I called and went to just about every place in town today and can't find this stuff for the life of me.

Looking online it goes for about $2.50 per 12oz tub. I want to add a tub to my diet every day...wish it was a bit cheaper - and wish I could find it.

Jkurz1 - how about helping us out here. Where do you get this stuff from and how much do you pay for it?
 
The cottage cheese I buy is called "pot style" which is dryer than regular cott. cheese which I find to be more liquidy or goopy.... In my grocery store, on shelves above the cott. cheese are dips & stuff & that is where I find the "pot style." That's what I thought Jkurz was talking about.... I always thought "farmer's cheese" was more like cream cheese....
 
ok...I honestly dont know what else to say.........it's called DRY CURD COTTAGE CHEESE.......that's it......no other name for it............I get it at Acme or Giant Eagle, i.e. local grocery. I can't help you anymore more other than to say it's some good ass shit........the entire tub is 454g..........if you eat the whole tub in one sitting, you'd consume 2g of fat, 80g of protein, 4g of carbs very little sodium and about 340 cals.........it's hard not to kick off 2 tubs a day.............truly a good food.
