Drugs and guitar are not meant for each other, you may think that you are playing better, but you really aren't. I do it sober. But that is just me. You can not have total control if you relinquish said control to an external substance. I used to perform with drums and occasionally guitar, after the first couple minutes all the anxiety goes away anyhow.

I play the piano, and found that having strong forearms and a strong grip helps me control the keys much better. So I'd say good AAS + Grip Training is great.
