is it common to test for steroids for amateur mma fights.

What's the fighter entry fee? If it's under $500 per contestant then I'd say no because the event promoter would lose his a$$ by spending all of that $$$ on testing. Check out this link-

Even if the promoter got a 50% discount for purchasing roid tests in bulk, the fight entry fee would still be outrageously high and be too expensive for most mma competitors. In addition, after renting a venue, promoting the event, hiring ring girls, emcee, referees, and supplying a decent $$$ purse/trophies, the promoter would likely have to charge around $30-$40 a seat and sell out a 500+ seat venue to even begin to make a profit. Adding the expense of $teroid testing just wouldn't make $ense-especially since most people don't really give a shit about who's natural and who's not.
