Drs in Phoenix Area??

Ok..after reading a lot of the people's stories on here, I think it may be time to try to find a doc in the area. Does anyone know of any docs in the Phoenix Metro area that you could recommend. I know I can find them through the Anti-Aging Medical Association web site, but "personal" referral is typically better.

I don't, but I can make the following selection suggestions:
- They should require a full blood testing including all hormones to establish a base.
- Testing should then be required every 4 months minimum.
- They should "lecture" you on andropause ... what it is and how to treat it.
- The Doctor should be affiliated with a major hospital and health plans.
- They should be knowledgeable about diet and exercise.
- The Doctor should know about bioidentical hormones.

These suggestions sound obvious, but you'd be surprised.

Good luck brother. I just went through this and the pickens were slim. At the very least try and find a doc that is open minded about HRT and is willing to look at information you can show "him" from credible sources concerning your treatment.

99% of the other docs will probably lecture you about the high risks of Androgen therapy and maybe throw you a tube of androgel.

From what I gathered in my search and talking to quite a few docs, most err on the side of caution when dealing with HRT. "Especially" if your already in descent shape and under 40.

Hopefully alot of this ignorance and bs will end in the near future.

Best of luck //Rick

Yeah...I am only 34, but have been noticing some odd things with the way I have been feeling over the last couple of years. I have always blown it off to stress, but the stresses are reducing and the changes are not resolving.

I do train in Brazilian JuJitsu, so I figured I would get some Dr just stating that I wanted an edge for the training. However, I was hoping to find a doc that would be sensible to the levels and such.

What about dealing with docs about former AAS usage. I only did a run of Sust at 1000mg / week for 12 weeks during my college years...yeah, way too much for a 170 lb kid just lifting for fun, but I didn't know any better. I also did not know about PCT at the time....(ah..to be young and stupid again) Should I mention the AAS when I go to find a doc.

I am wondering if the high doses, then rapid stop when the cycle was over didn't really mess up some levels.

I wouldn't mention the former usage, because I highly doubt that would be a contributing factor to the symptoms your now exibiting years later. Just openly tell him about all the negative symptoms you have been experiencing throughout the past few years.

Regardless, the key is going to be your blood panel. That will tell the tale and be a big part of the deciding factor on what kind of treatment they opt for.

Did you check out the Worldhealth.net to see if there any docs in your area that specialize or have a personal interest in Anti Aging?

Finding refs there would definitely narrow your search and alleviate some of the hit and miss.

If you have any more questions, feel free to drop me a PM.

Regards //Rick
