Drinking malto&protein shake during workout

I feel much stronger(placebo maybe) when I drink a malto&protein shake during workout...75grams of malto and 50grams of protein
The shake ends at the same time I finish my workout. Any of you guys do the same?
 
Handsome Pete had a excellent post on a study done by some exercise physiologists, Pre Workout vs Post Workout Protein/carb drinks which concluded that pre workout drinks are far superior. since then I`ve been taking a pre workout drink and i believe it give me an extra boost. I try to take it 30min before workout because the halftime (absorpsion time) of water in the stomach is 20 min., I figure it`s not any faster than water. When you`re working you don`t absorb stuff in the stomach too well because all the blood is going to you`re muscles.
You may want to do a search on pre workout vs post workout drinks, it`s interesting post.
 
I was thinking the same thing, like why not have the protein already in your system, half-digested, when you are done, rather than have to addit and wait another 20 minutes? Great thought provoking post, I may double up and "bracket" my workouts with shakes.
