I wonder why I still dream about people I haven't
seen in 10 years or longer?

Do any of you know about dreams?

Do you do this to?

Not so much people, but places from the past. I frequently have dreams that I'm either back in high school, or back at an old job. Usually these dreams are kind of stressful, like having to take an exam I didn't study for, or completing a work project at the last minute. ...weird.

Read Freud, he knew a bit about dreams

I woke up this morning after having a horrible dream...and I was crying and screaming. I fought off the urge to call this person all day.

That's the worst feeling in the world. Resist that temptation at all costs. Believe me--it only leads to BIG trouble.

b-true havin some hard times?

It is just very rough to have a HORRIBLE dream about someone that you care so deeply about... It scares me to death. I am a very big and strong man...bigger and stronger than I have ever been in my life (289 last night and abs are coming through)...and when I wake up in tears after a dream like that...I feel like a small and helpless child.

good topic...this came up when I was out tonight.

I had this dream last night that I was parasailing or something with a girl and we got stuck or detached from he cable....strange but I don't know exactly what happened...but then we were stuck up in the air disconnected from the line and the people below came up with a hot air baloon with only a small net not a barrel type that most ballooon have.....stange again....and most of you won't follow but I'll go on...well the air balloon fit me and I had to hold the girl by her arms so she wouldn't fall to her death from the balloon that was saving us....anyways then there was problems with the balloon and it couldn't go down and save us....so I'm there lying on a cloth that the balloon had holding me barely, but I was holding thsi girl so we didn't fall....In the dream it was obvious that we would both die if we tried to hold onto each other for awhile longer so I decided to throw the girl up on the balloon and let myself fall to my death....the second I decided I was going to do this I woke up....for ten minutes I felt really strange and bugged out about this...it seemed so darn real.....

My buddy was saying that all dreams meant something and I should see what falling to your death means in dreams...in one of those dream books or something.

strange ass shit......

If you sat and read this post let me just tell you that I'm tanked from being out all night and that this doesn't even make sense tome explaining it right now so if you got it good for you...

Cheers.....blah...b;ah/....blah....blah ....blah.

One of my favorite quotes about dreams goes something like:

"The events of the day become the dreams of night. Dreams change when reality changes. Some people think that dreams are made-up worlds inside your head, but to dream is merely to view reality through a filter."

What do these people that you keep dreaming about represent to you? Are they lost loves? Associations with happy times in your past? People who taught you important lessons? Do you have unfinished business with them? Answer these questions and you may have a better understanding of why they keep popping up.

As for me, I don't dream about people I know very much anymore. In the few dreams I can remember, I'm walking around in strange places I've never been in my waking life; abandoned buildings, caves, forests, wide open fields, deserted houses (or nearly empty, though I never talk to anyone still dwelling in them).

I space out a lot thinking about where else I could be, and what else I could be doing, so I think my dreams are just further manifestations of this. One of my new year's resolutions was to be in the present more, NOT space out, and I'm trying to be. I wonder if my dreams will change?

vitamin B6 gives crazy dreams....

My dreams have always reflected my life, my personality, and somehow related to parts of my psyche. Obviously this is looking deeper into dreams but why not. Nothing has been proven fact yet.

Flex 123, I could tell you right now what your dream may mean. It is a direct reflection of your personality, will, experience, and how you will handle situations for the rest of your life. If you want me 2 drop it to you I will.

I see dreams as coded messages. In order to understand your dreams you have to understand yourself and know that there are concepts beyond the figment of our imaginations.

So do L-Tyrosine, opiates, and high glycemic carbs. My most violent nightmares are always on refeed nights. :(

I have some mega-fucked dreams on buprion hydrochloride (Wellbutrin). Sometimes they can be pretty neat though, too.

fogg88, I've been having a couple dreams lately, sometimes a couple nights in a row, where I am taking a test in a huge room (like with 30 or 40 foot ceilings and seats 800-1000) and I either didn't take the class to take the test, or I have the wrong answer sheets or some other type of added stress.

I had a dream last week that I was on this 18th century style pier or dock, having an english class but most ppl were in thier pajamas. And this girl that I've been talking to a lot lately was in the class.

She had a dream last week that she was in a log cabin, having an english class (taking a test where she hadn't prepared and didn't know the answers). And I was in the dream too.

Sorta strange....

Also, I've been having some reoccuring dreams about driving a ship like an oil tanker but its been downsized to maybe the size of a dump truck, and I'm driving it on city streets like a truck. I hit a curb too :o

Thank You Ceebs
You may be on to something.

Relationships in which there was no closure. Either that or you subconsious asociated something in the present with a relationship you had in the past. Dreams are not as complex as we all think, With a little insight you should be able to uncover the mystery.

dreams are absolutely fascinating to me. Indians used to have a tradition of sitting around together and telling of their previous night's dreams. Sometimes they seem to have a meaning at other times it' just weird shit that doesn't even make sense. I dream alot about my ex-wife and about my girlfriend from 20 years ago. I loved them both and it bothers me how you can give someone your whole heart and then be nothing more than a stranger to them for the rest of your life.

I have read some excerpts from his dream interpretations, and I think it is crap...

I don't think that dreams mean anything specific, except a reflection of something you might be thinking about. Mostly, I believe that dreams are random charges in the brain evoking thoughts and memories, etc...

If what Freud said was even remotely true, then the people posting about the wierd dreams brought on by chemicals, etc, would be true also, which is obviously not right...

In the same category as Astrology...

Freud has some fucked up theories,I avoid his readings now

Bfold we all get that helpless feeling from time to time,If ya ever need anything drop me a Pm with ur digits and I would be more than happy to give ya a buzz.

Back to the main topic

I have all kinds of weird dreams,I had one when I came home from bootcamp in the summer where my dad was getting sucked into the basement and I was yelling to my mom for help and she just didnt hear me,I wok up in cold sweats swinging and kicking and screaming.I had this dream about 10 times in a row

I took gabapentin to sleep and it gave me incredibly vivid, recuring dreams. Right now I am taking DMAE and melatoinin at night. The combo sems to give me vivid dreams also, though not as intense as the gabapentin. The problem with the melatonin dreams is that they sometimes are nightmarish. While on melatonin once I dreamt that I woke up and there were rats crawiling all over me under the covers.

Melatonin makes me have weird dreams too.

I haven't taken it for awhile.
I think it was giving me headaches.

But rats...... I would freak out... :eyes:

Thanks...I may take you up on that offer sometime.

I have this fault of caring about people. When I care about them and I have a horrible dream...it really scares me. I just want to call them and talk to them and know that they are ok. Family and friends...and loved ones...are very very important to me.

Pamela,

I dream about being young again. I'm not enjoying getting older, even at 29. The innocence of youth is the most beautiful thing in life IMO and if i could stay 17 for the rest of my life, it wouldn't bother me.

I dream alot about raving. Over the new year period, i went out 5 nigts in a row. I lost about 9 pounds in those 5 days, but the feeling was incredible.

Honestly, when i'm on the dancefloor with a cool DJ and big system pumping the dance music into my brain, i get transported to another place. I often have flashbacks of various raves and parties i've been too.
