Just went to the docs for the annual check up, got thelevels tested too and everything is good, and decided to ask about the acne on my shoulders and upper back. He prescribed me IC Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic. He cklaimed that the type of ance that I had since it was deep was caused by bacteria under the skin an that this would kill it within 6 weeks. Was wondering if anyone has used this before, and also, I am supposed to be on it until summer, and I am runnin my next cycle mid january, will this fuck it up at all? Might sound dumb but jsut wondering. Thanks guys

if you have cycstic acne (bumps under the skin) doxycycline will not do shit for it. Doxycycline will prevent new bacteria from forming but it will do nothing to control the excess sebum production caused by gear which is basically what causes the acne. It also will not do anything to cure your pre existing acne, only prevent some new acne from forming, and your body will slowly clear by itself, but only if the acne is mild. Minocyclin is another antibiotic similar to doxy but works better, but still will not combat cycstic acne. Get some vitamin b5 - panothenic acid and take 10gs a day. Yes thats about 20 capsules a day split into 5 doses throughout the day. this will help to control the excess sebum (oil) production. Take this in combination with the antibiotics. It will take about 3-4 weeks to start working but works pretty damn good. otherwise try to get accutane prescribed because nothing else will work.

I've been to about 12 different dermatologists/skin doctors, in 3 yrs. They've put me on 5 diff antibiotics and those did nothing. They all kept telling me same thing, "acne is cause by this and that", I was like bullshit, you only tell me this cause that's what your dumbass been taugh in school.

I was getting acne based on seasons. I'd get acne on my neck during fall and winter seasons. I would get acne on my face, same place every time. I felt fuckin hopeless cause these doctors are fuckin stupid. Finally I found accutane.

DR0832 is right about Minocyclin being stronger (at least my opinion is so). However I found the Minocyclin to be helpful in not only clearing current acne and preventing new acne from forming, but it also worked for my cysts (except once in a while i had the big painful ones injected with cortisol/kenalog right away)

ps im taking accutane right now and im in my 3rd month. It cleared me up really well at first except the results have sort of slowed down... i still get some occasional cysts (but no more whiteheads) even while im still on it which is now. I think my derm. will let me run it for 5 months which would be great!

anyone else have experience with doxycyline? sounds like i shuold give it a shot and if that doesnt work, im betting it wont during and after my next cycle, ill have to get accutane

I just got prescribed minocycline the other day. I used Doxycycline for 60 days and it didn't do shit! The doctor also gave me Tetracycline gel. Which is the same drug as Accutane but not in pill form. I practically begged this cocksucker to give me accutane but he refused saying it ws too hard on the system. He said the gel would work the same if I gave it time. I tried to explain to the good doctor that it might be a little hard rubbing that shit on the middle of my back every day seeing I live by myself but he wouldn't budge.
The gel would be the way to go vs. the pills for those of us who use oral AAS because Accutane and orals don't mix.

How bad is your acne--to the point of possible scarring and all, or is it just a fair number of zits? I think it's best to avoid lots of other uneccesarry drugs when on a cycle (and ingeneral.) I would get mild-modest acne when on a cycle, from alot of excess oil production in my case. I've found that nightly rubbings with cotton balls soaked in rubbing alcohol cleans out all those pores, and I get virtually no zits. Simple, but it works for me.
